I like the proposal but the PayPal address request is private I feel. You may PM me to give me more info about why this is needed.

Pretty simple why he wants the paypal address.. Cause he will dig into google with this same paypal address + scam in his research keywords and if they're is some results than most probably that you could then see some posts made by people that are exposing a scam done by this user @ this paypal email.

It's only to do a background search. but true, it's quite personal... could be seen in a much more different ways that I wont get into here.

It sounds like a paypal scam more than a way to expose the scammers to me!

Good luck to anyone who is willing to pay $7 a year; but I will refrain from it even if it was offering me $14 a year to join. So many posts requesting a justification about paypal info and still quiet; hain? Hmmmm !!!!

I will create a file and i will stick to the laws in my country, Data Protection Act.

    All data will be private.

I send £0.01 to each paypal account to check that real name is used. Some people use fake names.

Paypal fees are a minimum of £0.20 just in case some noob trys and makes quick cash (LOL!).

I will not read the pm's until i have done each person seperatly.

If you do not want to give me your paypal address, then you don't have to. Some people are uptight about security, don't worry about it, many people are.

    Thanks for all the interest.

Google for The Data Protection Act. I will stick to that law. Only 1 person has access and will have access to the information.

I was not at the computer...i don't sit here 24/7.

Exactly. That is why it is considered "voluntary information" now. I don't need it.

The reason i want your MSN is to search for it in profiles on other sites, and then i intend to check whether the user on the site is a scammer etc.

I don't you just check their Itraders. If they have more then 500 posts they must have been here for some time and on DP people come to mostly do business.

    This is a good idea,

BUT since you are titling it with "digitalpoint" and its a "Members Association"

    Wouldn't you need Shawns ok?

Or is Shawn cool with this?

I know that adam dicker did something like this on dnforum and gave us all badges,

It really would be better if Shawn or a Mod stored peoples info since it is a "digitalpoint" group,

But I would make sure its ok with Shawn,

ALSO - how do you plan on letting the members know that they are certified or whatever?

Will you be creating badges ?

I can name two...three people here with over 4k postcount who have ripped people off. Hense why i am doing pre-checks with more than just their iTraders.

I do a deep check. I have just checked the first person to apply. There information is added to the database and checked yes.

That person is about to get a PM.

I forget to mention in the first post that this is an unoffical club which is run by me. Shawn will not create one, and if he ever plans to, i will just pass over all the work i have done to him.
    I will be creating badges.

I plan to announce when i have checked all of their background.

    Any more questions/comments/suggestions?

    Rob

I wouldn't mind applying (if I fit the criteria, of course :p) but I'm a bit confused about all this... :D

Robert, I believe DigitalPoint is a trademarked commodity. You should get permission from Shawn to use the ID in any way, shape, or form.

Trustworthiness is rather subjective in my book.

I don't plan to use the word "digitalpoint" in my site, I plan to use "DPTMA".

I will talk to Shawn soon about this idea. If he disagrees with the idea, i will change the name so that people in any forum can join. EG: dnforum, namepros etc.

The Emirates Gallastico, you have the right criteria to join.

I have actually got someone who applied with a similar post count to you, and i accepted them.

I want to keep the regulations to apply to a minimum. You can apply if you want, but there is slightly less chance of being accepted.

Im off to bed. Expect a reply after 6pm British Time tomorrow. (Around 18-20 hrs).

    I got college tomorrow.

    What are the benefits?

what kind of protection and services will you offer?

If you accept a member and then they do rip someone off , will your company or team offer insurance?

Will you personally investigate fraud and disputes or will you hire others?

If you do handle and investigate disputes , will you be conforming to country by country laws?

I mean dp is Global so you will need to know laws from around the world, which may require other members from other countries but your own to help you with the laws,

In the USA , we have something called slander, Are you familiar with those laws in the USA?

I mean what really is the whole point of this?

Will you be adverting on your website or is this for profit?

I have noticed lately that the new trend is to start "scammer sites" and then load them full of ads and such...

Is this just a way to make money and drive traffic or will there be some real benefits for the members,

Please do let me know the answers to the above.
