Revenue sharing system, ok?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by tarponkeith, Oct 17, 2007.

I'm assuming revenue sharing with adsense is ok, because they do it here at DP... But I want to revamp a site, and have 1 460x68 using my code, and 1 using the clients publisher id...

I looked through the adsense faq and TOS, and didn't see anything wrong with it, but figured I'd ask here too, just in case...

    Thanks

They only allow one pub-ID per page.
You need code to do the sharing.

    Hi,

If you are asking about Google Adsense TOS:

    * I'm 100% certain you can only have one ID per page.
    * If you need proof, "Google It" :p

If you are asking about how to do the revenue sharing code:

    * It depends on what type of website
    * Some Open Source programs have free modifications for revenue share.
    * PHP code can be used for almost any site.

Revenue sharing is ok. They even have instructions on how to do it with AdSense API. I blogged about it some time ago...

I've seen tons of conflicting arguments over this, so I e-mailed the question to google:

I'll post the reply as soon as I get it...

Revenue sharing is ok, as long as only one publishers id is displayed per page. If the page the ID is displayed on is within the guidelines it is again, ok.

Please tell as soon as you find out. I'm also interested. I'm sure revenue sharing is ok, but couldn't find a quote anywhere for multiple ids not being allowed. I know I've heard it a hundred times, but haven't seen an actual quote from any Google document.

Same here about never seeing a direct quote...

I'm tapping my toes waiting for a response... I'll definitely post it as soon as I find out...

revenue sharing is OK, as confirmed by Shawn the webmaster of this forum a while back ... I also see it on most other forums I hang out ... but If you being sceptical about it send google support an email ... they are usually pretty fast at replying.

I'd be interested to see how Google replies to this as well. If you don't get a reply soon, I'm going to send an E-mail to Adsense support too.

The issue with revenue sharing is that if one of the users gets click happy they may click everyone's ads, not just theirs.

Adsense API is a better solution, IMHO. If a user with Adsense API is click happy likely they'll only be clicking their own ads and only get themselves banned. One hopes, anyway. However, I understand the bar is very high to get in now ...

I still haven't tried revenue sharing yet. I am afraid my account may encounter problems if I use it.
