Problem when cheking link popularity

    When i check my sites link popularity (its brand new and i haven't done much promoting) it finds 8 sites from yahoo type of sites and 0 from Google. Even though Google has more indexed sites about my site than yahoo.

    The search engines (and Google especially) do not show every link they know about. The link reporting searches are purposely filtered to only show a small sample.

    You should give some time those links to get indexed by search engines.

    Google only show random sample of your link and it only updates every three to four months. If you want to see your real number of backlinks in google create an account in google webmaster tools.

    google does not show all of the backlinks.

    you must give some time google to update backlinks

    Do you mean you already have an account in webmaster tool? Just wait for google to indexed some of your backlinks and you will see more of your backlinks in webmaster tool.

    give time to update their server as it has many sites to update
