Do search engines pick up on keywords in forums?

If i were to do a a post in my forum that helps me get my post indexed which was carefully inserted with appropriately analyzed keywords?

just wanted to know your opinions

 

I think as long as the thread is often updated with response it will be indexed.

Yes a thread can (and will) be crawled and indexed by a search engine spider, since it's just a regular Web page as far as the bots are concerned UNLESS the spider has been told otherwise not to crawl it (noindex, no follow or a robots.txt file telling it to bugger off).

As for the keywords, they're treated as if the thread was just another Web page.

Of course. My forum's posts hit Google search heaps from words in posts.

 

Very good that showed and it only indexed quick because its dp other sites would fail of such quick indexing
