if a particular page has page rank (say 5) and is a subdomain page that is part of a blog network page. Does that mean it is spider friendly/ IE pass PR if link is placed on it?

Sure, think about free blogging services such as blogspot.com - those blog-subdomain.blogspot.com definitely pass PR and are search engine friendly.

If blog is a dofollow, I think it can pass PR but I think PR is now gone.
