I've been reading a lot on different CMS's lately and to be honest I have no idea which one is best suited for my project. I'm going to outline the main functions the site has and pray that someone can offer me a solution. The site will have news posted on it. There are several different events that the site will be covering so it needs to have the ability to categorize articles Users should be able to create an account and reply to news posts We would like, but not required, to have it so users can submit their own news We have a VBB license which we would like to incorporate with the CMS We have the designs all layed out, so community support which has developers willing to create custom templates (of course we are wiling to pay for their services)
Drupal can easily do all of these things - the only one i'm not positive about is integration with VBB.
Get the Movable Type CMS. An example of a site using Movable Type and vBulletin is: http://www.anythingbutipod.com (not my site). Good luck mate!
I would suggest drupal I suppose. I did find it a bit confusing at first, but in terms of open source stuff, it's vastly superior. You can also check out vbdrupal which already integrates vbulletin or there are a few plugins that will do this as well. hope that helps, Nigel If you want to pay for the development of the site, we can give you our in house cms. It is much easier to use once we set it up for you. It doesn't come with an installer, nor will it.
Hello Clockwork, xooArticles Publishing Suite meets every requirement mentioned above. Also you may want to look at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=490902
How do you say that? They are mostly very much secure, all critical issues are always found and patched quickly.
What about Joomla? I installed it for the first time and I like it pretty much. Its the new Version 1.5 which i would recommend you since its quite new and they might still have some bugs in it. But for my purpose its just fine.
