If anyone can do better than speno, that would be great. Otherwise his almost what i want. Speno, i had another idea. the small ZORGDIRECTORY in the icon - could you have ZORG and DIRECTORY on different lines? i though it may look better...
the last 3 were nice, but i prefer spenos. The contest is over, mods can close the thread. Speno wins.
That "extrant" (sure you meant contestant) was me. It's interesting how you guided the contestants to look like my concept I showed you through pm. If I didn't know better, I'd say you showed Speno my entry. But then again Speno can come back around and say you didn't. And really neither one of you can really prove it. I do know you found my entry the best and afterwards made a post about my entry and then made comments leading in a direction as if it were your own idea when you were going off of mine. But regardless, you directed the entries to look like mine; point blank. I pm'ed you my entry so that the details of my entry would not be told to the other contestants. And well you might as well should have just posted my entry on the thread without my permission. The whole 'ZD' icon was my idea and how Speno has his entry was mine was. Just different color and different font. Next time CH, don't go telling other contestants to copy the idea of another again since I know for sure you did that for starters read your post above and then read the rest of your thread. It's real shady of you. Glad to know that's the kind of contestholder you are and did not respect my request via pm. A design wins by ripping mine with your help. Just as shady as concept thieves and look at your rating on DP. Doesn't mean sh** now. What a d@$% shame! Why can't designers here come up with their own sh**! And folks pm me wondering why I rarely enter contests often. This right here is one of the reasons why. So folks you can stop pm'ing me asking me why I don't.
CU Designs, why dont you just post your entry now? lets see how similar it is to mine? mikey said you used a ZD as the logo, i did no such thing, i imposed a ZD onto an icon, not the same really is it. he didnt show me or anyone else your design, he just saw yours and wanted it modified. don't be a sore loser
Its a sorry shame you feel this way. Lets see - 1 )I never PMed speno your entry as you removed it from the PM. 2 )I always wanted the icon to be brandable alone but didnt ask for that initially as i hoped people would give better logos. 3 )Yours was the only logo that used something brandable as the icon, so to save further entrants from making a mess i asked this as a guide for further entries, presuming you would post yours on the thread but you did not. 4 )You then said you wernt going to redesign yours and i could buy it now if i wanted, but i didnt as spenos was better - due to text not just the icon. If you had continued to post in the thread i would understand, but you went quiet on me so i presumed you wernt interested. You also removed the image so i couldnt remember what it looked like, and as spenos was the best i continued to guide him so it was better. People could have easily ripped spenos design on the thread but didnt, so by asking people to use a brandable ZD icon which i had originally thought about i was guiding people to produce a better entrant to the contest. I guess you will never have any proof that i helped speno rip your "idea", but seen as overall - both logo and text were better than yours, you refused to post on thread, and also didnt re-enter the contest i think speno is a deserved winner...
^ well said, i'd love to see the logo he designed though, just to see if mine resembles it in any way. Payment has been received, iTrader left, nice contest
My responses are below in blue! And then you had the nerve to give ME negative rep when YOU outright lead contestants to ripping MY concept?! WTF?! I'm not going to waste my greens giving you red. You aren't worth it. This thread with your comments alone and my last post simply pointing out the obvious will do it all by itself. hehe. You're just as shady as concept thieves and really you are one as well as those that followed your lead to the finish. There is evidence of that ALL OVER this thread. Again, I can take a loss. But all of my designs I put thought into making brandable is money out of my pocket when the money is given to a concept thief. Nobody should have followed your lead when you made it clear it was the idea of mine. You should have either bought mine and had another designer improve it with color and different text OR you or the contestants should have requested to collaborate with me where we'd split the prize 50/50. Could have saved you from being turning shady. So since you chose shadiness, your iTrader feedback is of no value because at what "cost" did you get it is what I'd have to ask.
Dang... man its only $50 and he didnt really jack the idea.i mean a lot of companies have 2 letters in a logo. Get over it.
These contests here suck. There are a few designers that are good, but most of the time the contest holders don't realize a good design if it hit them in the face.
I can agree to that to an extent. Everyone has different opinions. Do you think that nike had better designs than a little swoosh?
I don't know why everyone uses that as an example. The swoosh isn't some masterpiece. It is so well known because Nike had/has invested money into advertising their brand identity. You can have the best logo, but if you don't advertise it to people, they won't know what the hell it is. I can come up with a few different logo ideas. Yahoo, AOL, their logos aren't that visually appealing at all. However, since they marketed their product and spent millions (probably billions) in advertising, people remember what it looks like. Simplicity is the key here. I see so many entrants here that use pixelated fonts and colors that don't blend or add way too much detail into something that should be simple. In my prospective, I have been evaluating websites for years and I constantly nitpick every detail and focus on a section of something that I am designing which may not be visible to the common person, or the client, however, however it's just what I think makes an all around "good" designer.
