I'm pretty new to web design, but after my pathetic first two sites I decided to get my act together. I learned some CSS and XHTML, and am wondering if you guys can give me a critique this time around. http://oversite.org
I like it, but I don't like the empty yellow space. If there was something else there like text,cartoon,image...would look more appealing to the eye
yeah, im going to fill that yellow space with adsense once i get around to it. I also like the suggestion about fixing the text links, I'll change them 2morrow. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
Hi Mark, If you're going to put AdSense in that box you should decrease the size of it. It probably would attract a lot of clicks but it sure would look ugly. I think the three Guides, Newsletters and Partners buttons would be much more suited in the yellow box. You could then fill the space where the buttons were with a blog or something else. Everything else looks good though. Liam
Nice design but i suggest not to put a white rectangle . I feel it doesnt fit well and perhaps making the homepage a bit more filled content wise? Just add more About oversite description
It worked fine when I checked it this morning and last night. Thanks everybody for your input, when I revise the site in a week or so I'll apply most of the changes you suggested. Any more feedback is appreciated.
The layout of the site is confusing and akward. Is there supposed to be content where the yellow space is, next to the links to the left?
Very nice indeed. Where the yellow rectangle on the top next to the navigation, use rounded corners on the right side of the yellow rectangle. It only has rounded corners on the left side... (on IE7). Congrats on the site.
read your putting adsense in the yellow bit, but the top logo font , im not sure about the rest of the site looks sleak and well done but the font i dont think does, maybe a reflective style up there with a different font, good work thou, neil.
