Hi, I know that we shouldn't get links from the same IP address. So i want to ask, how if we get links from many blogs in blogger or wordpress? Do all of them are useless? So why people are saying blogs are useful if they are useless for SEO?

Its good to use the big domains to backup your link efforts. A fair few big company's create blogs on blogger, wordpress etc to act as a bridge between them, their websites and the communities around wordpress etc.

e.g. if you have a blog on wordpress and tag your posts with your keywords when people search wordpress for those tags you will come up.

And I think that subdomains are classed almost as a seperate entity to the main site, e.g. no/little association between a wordpress blog and wordpress.

But of course because you would be coming up on wordpress.com for tags, wordpress gives the subdomain some of its authority.

so yes if the blogs are maintained you would benifit from links on wordpress blogs.

of good PR of your site and traffic.

It seems you don't understand my question. I asked if we got many back links from various blogs, will those links discounted because their IP address is only one? (blogger or word press).

When building PR different IPs are better, when building a campaign to drive traffic any link is a good link. As many have said before give people information worth reading and blog if that is what you like to do and traffic will come.

There is no answer to this question until we get hold of the SERP algo.. However, many people believe that links from the same IP will be discounted.

if you are looking for PR and if you are a PR guru links from the same host dont count.

if you are looking for traffic them it counts as well :)

links from many blogs under same IP or commonly known as blog network will just work same as a sitewide link. you will probably not get credit for each link on the entire network, but i don;t think there is any penalty. however, one thing to keep in mind, if you post article on a blog network, make sure you post unique article on each blog. if same artile is posted on 100 or 900 blogs under same IP (which is what i see being sold under buy/sell link section of DP) , then you get penalized for duplicate content.

I don't think bloggers would not hurt your ranking as long as the content of the blog is related.

There called contextual links and there the best links you can get due to the natural look of them. And no there no usless now don't take me wrong you want to stay away from any one that has a blog network for example if you see something like this below

I have 200 blogs for 20 dollars all unique ips

stay away from it its a spam network generally quality links will run at $20+ per link on a contextual links they are unique, and one of a kind. Completely natural looking.

    Script kiddie rumor.

Also, have you actually checked a bunch of Blogger hosted blogs to verify they all use the same IP? I'm sure Google has a pretty damn massive server farm.
