i know some graphic design(mostly just banners and forum sigs), web design, css and html, and have an adsense account on two of my blogs. with this limited set of skills, what different things can i do to make money online other than just adsense or affiliates? you guys all seem like pretty skilled entrepreneurs, so i hope you guys'll have some idea. i was thinking about a "pity me" type site. where i tell them the horrible story of how i have to use my friends computer(which is true) to make my websites, which is my one true love.. and if they could just donate one of their measley dollars.. lol something like that. what you guys think?

I am not really impressed by your idea :) Actually there is nothing to pity on you. You are physically and mentally well(I assume) and have reasonably good education and skills - still if you want others to pity on you I will say it is extremely bad.

Think positively and find some job that you can take up. Online you can do freelance design jobs. Checkout the freelance sites like scriptlance, elance, rentacoder etc. Of course there are going to be a lot of jobs suitable for you in your city as well. For a beginner, its hard to make enough money online. Till you reach that stage, you need another job to support you.

Be optimistic and aim high. best of luck.

If you just write 2 or 3 article about yourself...who's gonna give you money..At least in your site, you got something that people interested with like good articles, tips only then I think some of the visitors will donate couple of dollars for you..:D

You could set up a blog where you write about you.....that is as long as you are interesting and have something to write you could build up a PR on the domain and sell links and use Adsense.

You could also offer Web & Graphic design services on the net and in the sections on here to people.

Web Design is a VERY competitive market and I have found this out first hand.

    There is that.

Let's face it, to be the best you have to be amazing!

I know I am far from the best, a million miles from the best but I can produce nice work and people are still happy with it. This is why I charge a lot less than the big boys!
