Dual monitors are awesome

For the past month I've done a bunch of reading on why two monitors are so much more better than one. Every report I read stated that they drastically improved productivity. So with Dell having a sale on the 20" E207WFP (which is relatively similar to my primary monitor -- the only differences being performance, number of USB inputs and a silver trim) I went out and bought one. I went from this...

    To this...

And what a difference it has made. I usually use it for gaming on my primary monitor and work on the 2nd.

Does anyone else have dual/multiple monitors? If so, how are you finding them? Have they increased your overall work productivity?

I have used dual monitors for years. First it was 21" CRTs (used two video cards for that setup), then moved to 19" LCDs, and now with 24" LCDs. I also have a set of 22" LCDs on another station, and another one in the office has dual 20". It's the only way to get anything done.

    :D

I've had dual monitors for around a month and a half now and they fucking rock. It's so easy to be watching tv/dvd on one and surfing a forum on the other, so yes it increasing productivity. I have two 20 inch square monitors, but yours look way better. How much they cost you?

I bought the first monitor with my computer around a year ago, I think it was about $600 AUD. The 2nd was only $380... a real bargain. :)

I always read how awesome it is. I'm going to have to invest in this. It's such a pain when I'm working on something and want to watch or see a site at the same time.

When i was still on windows xp, i tried dual screens.. I only have 1 monitor, the other screen I used was the television screen. I just hooked up the Video out from my video card to the video-in of my television. It worked, i could surf the net on the first screen and watch movie on the secondary screen. The only problem is when i switched to vista, i cant go dual screen anymore.. i just dont know why.. but its cool.. i would save up for dual monitors soon..

Currently sitting on dual 17" monitors. Will shortly be moving to either 4x 19" LCDs or possibly 2x 19" and 1x 22" Widescreen.

I'm running Vista and it works fine. All I had to do was plug it in and change a few settings in the Display control panel and I was good to go.

I’ve been using dual monitors for the last 3 years and would not be without them.. Recently I visited a friend who had just purchased a new build computer to find that he using a 42inch wide screen LCD TV as a monitor.
Beats using dual monitors I guess.
