I tried a cigarette when I was 10. I was expecting to be something special, delicious even. Then - it was the same as I would inhal the smoke from dry leafs of any tree...

It's a tar in a smoke which cause lung cancer. Cancer of vocal cords is also not uncommon in smokers.

Then it is chronic bronhitis and emphysema which both permanently damage lungs.

But not all people know, that nicotine permanently damage the inner side of arteries, which leads to their obstruction - atherosclerosis. This developes slowly - this is why no young smoker is scared of it. When my neighbour got heart attack, it turned him from a strong man to a disabled person - literarily - he barely can walk now.

Some say that smoking calm them down. This is because nicotine is a slight narcotic. But smoker does not get rid of any tension this way. You do not burn tension with smoking. Tension is burnt by canalazing it in an action or with beeing patient - whatever is appropriate.

Well, I should write an article...

This is good information. I don't know how people think its calms a person down. Once I smoked up maybe 15 cigars and it increased my heart rate and increased the level of tension as well as making me feel a little shaky. It's a nice buzz though, that only lasts for a few munits...

I also notice that I don't get sick as easily since I've smoked the odd cigar, maybe its just better eating Mom's cooking:)
