    www.TutorialFire.com - Adobe Tutorial Site - 10,000+ uniques - 30,000 pageviews/month
8 months old, unique tutorials, 20,400 Google backlinks (PR5), over 125,000 Yahoo backlinks

    www.tutorialfire.com

TutorialFire is an established tutorial site for Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (but can easily be changed to allow tutorials for other programs). It has a huge number of backlinks after 8 months of work. The website is powered by WordPress and uses a custom and unique theme that was paid for. A lot of time was spent tweaking the template and adding plugins to create a system that performs as a tutorial site. The administration is easy and you should find no problems with adding/editing tutorials.

The site has over 20,400 backlinks registered by Google (www.tutorialfire.com/google_backlinks.JPG). That's a PR6 in the next Google update. Yahoo registers over 125,000 backlinks. I used the site primarily for the strength of those backlinks. Put a link on this site and Google will visit it in a few hours. Great for getting new sites listed on Google, immediately. You can market that functionality on DigitalPoint and make money just for that I suppose.

I purchased this recently and I'm selling to thin out my web portfolio.

    Description
    - Google registers 20,402 links to the site
    - Yahoo registers over 125,000 links to the site
    - predicted to move to PR6 (iWebTools)
    - created February 15, 2007 (8 months)
    - 168 registered members
    - average 3 new members a week
    - Alexa ranking of 297k
    - all tutorial pages listed in Google
    - domain registered at Namecheap, free push to your account
    - receives ~300 unique visitors a day - 10,000+ a month (Statcounter - www.tutorialfire.com/statcounter.JPG)
    - receives ~300 visitors a day - 10,000+ a month (Google Analytics - www.tutorialfire.com/google_analytics.JPG)
    - >50% of traffic is US, UK or Canada (Google Analytics)
    - ~85% of traffic is from referring sites (Google Analytics)

    Maintenance:
Keeping the site running and earning money is pretty easy with tutorial sites like this. All that’s needed is a source of tutorials (either paying someone else or making them yourself) which you can upload to the site and then submit to a few tutorial index/directory sites.

I do not actively promote or market the site. It has been on auto-pilot since I bought it a month ago.

    Tutorials:
There are currently 24 tutorials on the site. Five of which are unique to the site and the winner of the auction will have full rights to the tutorials passed to them. These five tutorials (posted on the site by the author ‘TutorialFire’) have all been accepted on at least one of these major tutorial index sites: Good-Tutorials, Pixel2Life, Tutorialized.

    Screenshots at
    www.tutorialfire.com/google_analytics.JPG
    www.tutorialfire.com/statcounter.JPG
    www.tutorialfire.com/google_backlinks.JPG

    What’s included in this auction:
    - The domain (tutorialfire.com) will be pushed to your NameCheap account for free.
    - The custom made TutorialFire logo will be included in vector format (.ai)
    - All current tutorials can stay on the site when it is transferred.
    - You will have full rights to all the tutorials posted by the author ‘TutorialFire’. These tutorials are unique and won’t be posted on any other site. (Note: I cannot give ownership to all the other tutorials which aren’t posted by ‘TutorialFire’ as they have been uploaded by friends).

    - All the files required for the site will be sent to you by email as a .zip or I will upload the .zip for an HTTP download.

Any other details you need, let me know and I'll provide.

    Payment by Paypal.

Starting bid --> $1200 (what I paid a month ago)
    BIN --> $3000

This is site is also listed for sale in other locations. I will try to keep this thread updated with the progress and the proof of those other listings.

I bought the site September 11 and the traffic screenshots DO show the numbers from then until today.

I bought the site on SitePoint (auction listing here http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/12918). The previous revenue stats were $85+ a month. I bought it based on 12x that revenue plus the potential of it being a PR6 soon with over 20k backlinks.

I didn't monetize the site as well as the previous owner and have about $16 of adsense revenue since I took it over. Again, I used it primarily to put up links and get sites into Google in under a day. That service could pay big if someone marketed it.

I copied and pasted your site name (tutorialfire.com) into at least 10 different page rank checkers. They all show PR 0. They also show 0 Google backlinks, and 30-40 indexed pages. I can replicate the Alexa traffic rank of 297k, but that's all. What am I missing?

Use 'www.tutorialfire.com' then. What are the 10 different page rank checkers you used? Post them and I'll check too.

I actually provide the Google screenshot for the site showing 20402 backlinks. What more do you want me to do?

I use iWebTools (http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction). They actually predict it to be PR6.

And yes there are ~40 indexed pages in Google. What does that matter? The site only has 40 pages.

wsfarrell, i checked and www.tutorialfire.com gives a predicted PR6 in all PageRank predictors I found. Search Google for 'pagerank prediction' and use 'www.tutorialfire.com', not 'tutorialfire.com'.

PR6 is what you'd expect with 20,000+ backlinks. It's a very signficant amount.

The site *is* a PR0 right now. Everywhere I've been clear it's "predicted" to go to PR6. Predicted PR6. PREDICTED PR6. It should be clearer for you now.

Go back and read everything properly this time.

    Thanks for ruining my thread.

Plus, I've shown you the official backlink stats from Google. You're disputing Google's own numbers?

Do you always try to discredit websites for sale with your flawed analyses and insights?

If you have the Google toolbar, type in link:http://www.tutorialfire.com. You'll see that the site is showing 7 backlinks. Same thing without the www. Case closed.

    Hi Neutron,

I think you made a big mistake (buying this site for that money), the site is very small for a tutorial index site (41 indexed WP pages) and is maybe 200-300 worth...(the content is not unique right?)

Learn from this, I suggest to develop this site and maybe after a year (and a lot of work) you get maybe this price you paid for it.

    success!

I'm editing what I originally wrote here. I'm going to keep this positive and professional.

wsfarrell, how about going to a website I see you bought called www.lettercover.com. PR3 right? Go to Google and type "link:www.www.lettercover.com". 8 backlinks? Your site is a PR3 with 8 backlinks? Then everyone should pretty much be a PR3 no?

How about you go to one of my other forums, www.malluspace.com. PR of 4 right? ok now go and type "link:www.malluspace.com" at Google. 0 links right? Wrong. It is a PR4 and has over 20,000 backlinks registered by Google and will be a PR5 in the next update.

How about you go to the site in Olaf2's heading, funniestvidz.com. PR3 right? Go to Google and check the links. 52. A PR3 with 52 links?

    Explain it.

    Neutron,

You keep sidetracking the discussion. I don't care what the connection is (if any) between backlinks and page rank. You showed one fuzzy jpg that claimed 20,000 Google backlinks. I provided results from several backlink checkers, including the Google toolbar, that show 0 backlinks. Do you have ONE piece of evidence, beyond a fuzzy jpg, of 20,000 Google backlinks?

wsfarrell, this is my last discussion with you then I'll ignore any of your future posts. Now I understand that you are claiming it's a fraudulent screenshot? If so, can you confirm that please? I urge interested buyers to ignore wsfarrell's intrusion on my thread and read below.

Forget about your backlink checkers and Google toolbars. That one fuzzy jpg is DIRECTLY from Google's Webmaster Tools for the site. It's the official Google count. Are you familiar with their Webmaster Tools? I'm not sure what more to tell you.

Here's a clearer jpg, I hope, from Google Webmaster Tools. www.tutorialfire.com/clearer_Google_backlinks.JPG. I also urge people to go to a leading website iWebTool and use their PageRank checker http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction using "www.tutorialfire.com" and see for yourself.

This site now has a $1200 bid at SitePoint.

I agree with you, This seller may not be a fraud but is VERY misleading.

Every backlink checker on the web besides his "Screenshot" -ALL returned 7 or 0 backlinks(Google)....(I tested 15 sites!)

It's very clear to me that this site DOES NOT have 20k backlinks....

Also on his "screenshots" there is no URL bar....

Maybe take another screenshot showing the url bar?
