I'm looking to host some photos on my website but would also like it integrated with the template I have setup. What do you think is the best photo gallery program for this?

Maybe just show thumbnails on your site which open in Lightbox. Nice and simple. Totally depends on what you want, there are soo many gallery scripts and tools out there, but it depends on what you want.

It depends what you want, as just said, I like

For extremely simple stuff : Lightbox
    For fairly simple gallery script : MG2 [MiniGal2 ~ http://www.minigal.dk/]
For a complex gallery script with loads of functions : gallery2

Afterwards it all depends on you ;)

Thanks Webdesigner I'll have to check that out. I've tried a few (yes there are tons), but they weren't what I was hoping for.

What are some of the requirement you are looking for?

    Slideshows
    Different Galleries
    Ability for users to submit

Approx how many image do you have?

I have used many different scripts / systems depending on the application.

If I want to display the images full size then I use lightbox.

Lots of images and galleries I have used Gallery2.

Lightbox everytime for me ... only pain in using it is resizing images for thumbsnails.

what would you recommend for a simple gallery automation? I want something simple that will link thumbnails from one directory to the full images in another directory yet be able to be integrated into my design.

I have just started a setup for someone using pixelpost @ (Ugliphoto).

Though it is not really what I think you are after, its simple, very easy to set up and works like a charm.

I think you can integrate lightbox and other extension to it, it also has other themes and addons you can use to get some more functionality to it.
