Google suddenly drops traffic

I was getting some decent amount of traffic to my blog and now it dropped by 2/3rds. This is mainly due to drop in Google traffic. All other sources are sending a steady amount of traffic.

I am targeting 2 KWs

1. free hot myspace layout
2. hot myspace layout

Overture doesn't show any decrease in the number of searches/day.
Please suggest ways to improve traffic and whether changing the target KW to the coveted myspace layout will help or take its toll at this stage?

Google traffic is always dynamic, you cannot always assume Google will keep sending you traffic based on the same keywords.

google traffic is like a roller coaster sometimes, so don't worry too much unless you get way down for quite a while.

 

You need to target more keywords. Having just two main keywords that drive traffic is like having all your eggs in one basket.

Build your site out to attract hundreds and thousands of keywords. Then the changes G makes to SERPs will have less drastic affects...

Google traffic always varies time to time..
did you noticed any alternation of your SERP? If you dropped, just get more backlinks..

Funnily, my Google ranking increased during this time.
It increased from around 50 to 28 for free hot myspace layout
and for hot myspace layout it is 45 from 96 today.

My6 fear is that the general searches/day for these 2 KWs are on the slide?

 

You having any luck with this niche? I was thinking of barfing out one those sites.. But looks tough though. I mean the keyword competion is crazy. Like when on the serps. Thies sites spam there title tags like crazy.


But my best advice is just build more backlinks.. prefferable ones with high PR.
You probably can expect too for alot of the more popular sites to start slipping. Becuase the introduced MSPLINKS so all there backlinks will gone on myspace. imo

Listen mate, you can't expect any traffic from those keywords because you are ranked outside the top 10. I think you can't even get any traffics if you are ranked outside the top 5. So I think the only problem here is your SERP. Just consider yourself as a user and you want to search "free hot myspace layout", you will click what URL? Of course the first or second or third rank. Why do you think people will click the 28th URL in that keyword?

 

Get more backlinks with different anchor text.

 

Better focus on getting on the first places for those keywords before targetting 'myspace layout'
