Anyone here can help? Is there any resources where I can find which are the most commonly searched keywords in the major search engines like google and yahoo?

There's 3 major ones out there.
http://inventory.overture.com <---yahoo. Hasn't been updated in awhile, so don't use it for current events
http://wordze.com <---buys search data from ISPs
http://www.wordtracker.com <---no idea where they get it from, but it's good.
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ <----free version. Not NEAR as good.
None of these are really accurate counts, but allow you to tell if SOMEONE is searching for it at least. Overture is the closest to accurate. They help you find long-tail results as well.
If you use overture, input the search number into http://seoblackhat.com/clicks-by-search-rank.html
and you can get more accurate counts, broken up by what rank you are in the search engines.

You could try monitoring Google Trends...
This is a trend of what people are actually searching for by the hour.

Not sure how valid it is over a period of time..

But interesting to see whats going on at Goolge Searches...

Where do you go to monitor Google Trends? Any particular web sites and instructions?

If anyone interested , I was selling a script that pulled data from Google trends and output to txt file and mysql db.

I then used a script to create subdomains in cpanel...

And your imagination goes wild... :)

Google trends would be my dreamboat if it gave longtail results for popular keywords.

    Add pulse.ebay.com for buyers

If you are looking for a good tool at a reasonable cost that will get you the longtail keywords and dig deep, I use and recommend Microniche Finder. You can see videos of it being used for several different functions on my blog.

I use Nichebot. I pay $9.99 per month for it (includes access to WordTracker full version AND Keyword Discovery full version) and I've made the money back many times over. Check my signature for how I do my keyword research.

Nichebot is not worth it. Code your own, and you'll do much better. It's not too hard.
