Man, anyone out there not liking this month? I keep thinking things are going to turn around but this month is really depressing... earnings down at least 25% from Sept and the summer in general. Maybe advertisers are saving for the Christmas season?
It depends on the industry. As wisdom said, subprime crisis is going to affect advertising in real etstae sector majorly. Dont expect good CPC for mortage market and home loans in general. However foreclosures will be hot! post interest rate changes, this is looking a little better. However you can always expect next subprime soon since the housing market is not able to sustain. US housing is again down by 10% numbers are not good, oil prices going up, usd weakening. Its time to wait and watch. By the way before someone ask me, I work for a investment bank and majorly trade in over 5 markets.
Talking about adsense earnings? You should pay attention to what kind of ads are showing on your site. This is the time of the year where there are FAR more advertisers out pushing their product = tons of more ads. Tons ads = you need to filter out what ads are giving you penny clicks ($0.05 - $0.10). Pay attention to your channels + number of clicks and what kind of adsense ads are giving you shitty payout. (ebay.com, yahoo.com, or any other sites that have high quality score landing pages). Remove those urls under competitive ad filter. Then watch your earnings increase. Good luck

One thing I hope with regards to the subprime crisis is that I will receive less spams on mortages. But they never seemed to decrease Hopefully, there will be a crash in pharmaceuticals, really tired of those viagra etc spams.
October for me is great. But I run a political website and the pushed up primaries are having a huge impact on my traffic. In fact, pushing them up so much increased my entire profit by a sizeable amount. Which is a big reason I'm running the sites. So while everyone has a story, it just depends on the market, what your niche is and what the public is doing in it.
this month really poor for me just 70$ so far with adsense and last month was 140$ total but i am earning a lot with widgetbucks 102$ in 5 days
Up around 15% this month so far. Its not saying much though as I appear to have bottomed out a long 3 month slump, but at least I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping October isn;t just a blip to get my hopes up.....
