How many people suffer with depression?

How many people here suffer with depression? ever wanted to end it all, been in a dark place, feel like your in hell

I have suffered with depression the last few years its a nightmare and when you lose someone in your family it just becomes worse.

A few times, but I generally keep my spirit up and dont get down to that point

 

Depression as in clinical or just the sense of sadness?

People use the word to lightly without being diagnosed by a therapist.. I *had* depression months ago and therapy really helps if anyone wants to try it..

 

my problem is i am lonely , sad ....wtf

 

I do sometimes, but I would think everyone would experience atleast once in a lifetime.

 

I mean clinical I was given tablets by my doctor but I could not take them the side affects did not agree with me.

 

many people suffer from clinical depression don't even know that they are.

thus any such survey conducted will have skewed results.

maybe minstrel will be able to give an expert opinion on it. .

 

i do get depressed before...

Used to suffer from bad depression, its all goood now.

 

I had it. Yep. Knew lots of people who did too.

 

Here in Ireland its a big problem alot of young people here commet suicied I had a friend who took his life last year

 

I don't get depressed that often, maybe a few times a month but nothing posting here in DP can't fix

I will sometimes...only when I sit on the computer from 8 in the morning to 2 in the morning.

It just means I need to read some dp posts. I'm generally a very happy, full of energy type of person.

 

I'm rather stressed... does that count?

I dont know what to call that but yeah my head goes crazy when my father keeps on screaming at my mom.She never speaks a word and still he continues to scream.thats the time when i think i dont want to live and just end it forever.

 

I've never been super depressed I would say. By super depressed I mean on the verge of committing suicide. However, i've had a few situations in my life that have really altered my way of thinking and have also led to some form of depression.
