    Hi,

I don't know if anybody knows this, but on what server (or servers) is this forum running?

    How many cpu's?
    How many RAM?
    HDD's?

    Just curious :).

    Thanks,

Yeah, I bet it costs a bundle to keep DP going! But I wonder how much profit ( If Any ) DP actually makes from the forums. As I doubt there main site is taking up all that bandwidth :D

that's a ton of hardware, but I bet Shawn has easily made that much money off selling ads on the forum..and those specs aren't unreasonable when you consider how much traffic DP gets daily.

Wow, I don't know if I want to get to that point now? Couldn't this board run on less than that? Just seems like overkill!!! Maybe not though considering online users and guests. What year was the forum started?

the forum would make very little if you ask me, but the forum takes less than 5% of the servers resources i would say. when you think of all the members sites the keyword tracker follows, and all the ads the co-op ad network serves an hour, then you'll start to see where the servers resources go.

everyone thinks that DP is just a webmaster forum, but it's not, it is far from it. most new people that use the forum to chat, have little idea whatelse DP has to offer unless they look at the main site http://digitalpoint.com then you start to see how big DP really is, and why a "forum" needs so much hardware to run it lol
