Since August my carpet has slowly been collecting fleas in my room from my cat. Now there is like 99999999999999999999999999999999999 gizzion and they bite my ackles every 3 seconds so i have around 35 bites i can count with constant pain. I vaccum often and use "zodiac flea spray" but it doesnt work Hopefully one of you guys have owned a cat and has a problem similar that might be able to help. My computer is here and i cant stand getting bit anymore. Thanks! ~Joecool6101
The cat in the washing machine on fast rinse and spin once a week will do it. Oh! Put a few drops of tea tree oil in there too!
lol. I got crap for the cat.. Just my carpet has a colony the size of new york and not sure what i can really do to kill the buggers.
You may have to call an exterminator. I had an problem in an apartment I leased. I kept finding these bites on my and had no idea the source. One day I was sitting on floor and I saw this critter hop on me - then I knew. Owner of unit had exterminator come in. I might try renting a carpet steamer/cleaner and using it multiple times.
Not too sure how to get rid of fleas, but I do know how to catch an elephant if that helps. You dig a big hole and fill it full of ahes. Then you line the edge of the hole with peas. When the elephant comes to take a pea you kick hin in the ash hole.
Fleas bite humans.. i would take a pic of my feet/ankles if i could its annoying its like millions of small mosquitoes I have been talking with my parents to see what i should do.. they said i should probably get someone in and exterminate them. But not sure how much that will cost.. my brother suggested shaving my legs so they dont have much to hang on to and nothing to plant there eggs on. I dont see that happening tho ^_^ Any more suggestions? ~Joecool6101
Looks like I learned something new, I was wrong. ~~~~~~~~ After the carpet is clean The expensive flea meds (Advantage) work really good The cheap ones are bad for your cat and don't even work.
well uhhh this i can definetly help with.....first where do you live....you need to find a bandfield...fleas....this year is the worst! so you have to go to petsmart and buy the sentry brand stuff....(do not buy hartz it does not work) you have to get a flea topical for ur cat too something called advantage.... but prior to putting the topical on you should bath with the sentry flea shampoo which kills the eggs and larvea and fleas....the life cycle is pretty fast but still fleas comes in billions it seems ** oh you may....need to bomb ur place...for the infestation of the fleas! hopefully this helped
You need to address the original source, the cat. Advantage flea solution isn't too expensive and is an ointment applied to the cat once a month. Only thing about Advantage is that it comes in a four pack though some vets will sell a single. I've always nipped this problem at the source so I'm not sure how to deal with an infested carpet. Here is a bit of info about fleas so you know their lifecycle and perhaps can plan your solution around that. Good luck and do yourself and the cat a favor, keep the cat free of fleas.
They started to travel up my leg 3 weeks ago i was getting scared as to how far they were gonna go ^_^ so i ended up shaving from my knee and up about 2-3 inches on my leg that seems to force them back down. i went to the vet and got some stuff for my cats that like is guaranteed to work apparently. I at one point was gonna put a flea collar on each one of my ankles to see if that would help till i get money to do something more.. So right now i use my box for my 360 and try and make my sites better so i can get a nice cheque from google to pay an exterminator. Thanks again! ~Joecool6101 EDIT: Just a note as my Location says on my profile im from Ontario, CA if that matters. EDIT 2: after reading the article i found this: WOW apparently there is no real way to get rid of them other then exterminator as Smyrl said.
I've been in that situation. First of all, I took out the carpet and put them under the sun. Then, I give my cat a flea-bath (make sure you scrub them all over 'cos fleas tend to hide behind furr)
