If me was Bush, I would do the same as the cons on this forum. I wouldn't even go in the street. Shame, shame, shame ......

Here are the reliable poll numbers:

    CBS News: 30%
    USA Today/Gallup: 32%
    Rasmussen: 36%
    FOX News: 35%
    NPR: 38%

The lowest of these numbers is higher than the highest number recorded for the Democrats in Congress.

Even if the numbers of the above polls are true and the trend continues (they have been going down for quite some time) those polls show that Bush is doing nothing, but hurting the country.
Most people I know DO THINK HE IS DOING SO.

True, on the way down he's taking his own party too (not to mention us, he and his party don't think we matter that much).

    Irony alert!!

You left out the fact that the dem congress has low numbers because they weren't able to stop the war.

So though I know most all of the conservatives wish upon a shooting star that those disapproving numbers were because people don't like democrats, we all know it's actually the opposite don't we ;)

Trying to spin those numbers in Bush's favor = a new low :)

People whined and complained when Bush had numbers above 50%. In fact, many of those (and even some here) used to say poll numbers didn't matter. Have to appreciate the irony in that ;)

Even more funny is, Bush has a higher approval rating than the democrats who have waisted a term of Congress trying to proclaim defeat for America.

The difference between the two is significant. The approval rating for Congress is traditionally very low. It's highest peaks were 42% in 1973, and 41% in 1986. The highest it's been since the Republicans took back Congress in 1994 is 30% in May 2004. There are a number of reasons for this, among them being that Congress is a rating of approval for hundreds of people: you can bet that people would rate the performance of their individual Congressmen very high.

The President, on the other hand, has historically had much much higher approval ratings, so a low of 24% is more significant.

Bush has a higher approval rating that does ron paul :D

paul suffers 5% support/approval (at best) in national polls. Bush has numbers in the thirties.

    That's very significant !!!

Negative. To say that, you would need to show that they are sampling the same people. Bush opinion polls take samples of all Americans, whereas Republican primary polls sample registered Republican voters with listed landline telephone numbers who have voted in the past three Republican primaries. To say that is representative of the same people a Bush opinion poll represents is misleading and disingenuous.

Fortunately, our current President has brought America from a horrible time in history (9/11) to a thriving economy, continued sustained low unemployment numbers, jobs created that pay well, thwarted more than two dozen terrorist attacks.

Some people are disappointed in success. They can't live without a crisis and when one doesn't exist, they make one up.

fletch, the numbers are very comparable. You may not like them, but it's a fact.

Now those were the good old days, I loved ripping Billy boy apart

As far as congress goes though, congress is always low, congress is not hugely controlled by the dems either. The dems pretty clearly show no real leadership and fail miserabley at almost everything they attempt.
To turn the presidents numbers into them being higher then what they are simply by attacking congresses numbers though is pretty piss poor.

Why do so many have to be partisan, esapecially those who constantly complain of partisan. It's so difficult to say both sides stink?
