I am planning to create a site where in people can pass their resume and employers can accept resumes. With Forum and blog and with SEF URLS what would you recommend based on experience

    Drupal or
    Mambo or
    Joomla or
    Other

    Any suggestions. Thanks

As of my own experience, if the website you plan is just about the functions you described the best ones that fit for you are Wordpress and ExpressionEngine, even though they're blogging systems you can do of them whatever you want.
As soon Joomla 1.5 stable will be released that will be also a good choice, but now nice SEF urls Joomla are not the easiest thing - on my own website i had to hack SEF component to get what I wanted.

Drupal can do anything you want and there is tons more coders working on free mods each day,

Joomla a lot of people love because they are more into "beauty"

Drupals code is a lot cleaner and easier to work with,

If you want an example of a drupal site , let me know and I can show you

difference is only in the webmaster who creates the website - if he's good in drupal and just a good webmaster - there will be nice website on drupal, if he's good in joomla, and a good webmaster - then there will be a good website on joomla - if he's no good - there won't be good website at all.

Joomla has over 2000 extensions availible so far and the number and quallity are growing.

    update - chekout extensions.joomla.org

Yea , but hardly any support for there mods,

Plus drupal code is way cleaner, and JOOMLA is way more hackable :)

I am not sure if it will be right for what you want but Subdreamer has very nice URL's and you can also have unique meta tags on every page.

I think joomla is pretty good, especially 1.5 thats coming out. The sef urls are amazing and joomla does have alot more ability to look nice particularly if you're not a design genius. Theres alot of high quality layouts made for joomla. Oh, and i use subdreamer. Its good but i'm migrating to joomla because its free and also has more plugin options for a page. Subdreamer isn't meant for large sites.

Drupal has some thing called "pathauto"

    http://drupal.org/project/pathauto

That lets you do what ever you want with urls and it also has something called

    URL aliases
Change your site's URL paths by aliasing them.

50/50 - i don't beleive any other CMS will have much better support upd for 3rd party extensions.
However checkout official forums - you'll get there answer to any question you'll ask!

Did you see code of J!1.5? Can't say code of J!1.0 is mess - i'm working with it every day - i've never been lost there so far...

Hackble in good way - i can hack it to do for me what i want, but no so hackable from outside - security issues usually being fixed right away.

There're few nice SEF components for Joomla too and they are very flexible.

Subdreamer is hoaky pretend software for kids who want to make sites to talk about myspace crap. When you look at it seriously you'll see it is incredibly limited.

I've been looking at trying out drupal but have never gotten around to actually installing it on a server. Is it pretty easy to install?

@rjb0467: Drupal is very easy to install. It has more learning curves than Joomla, but once you get there, you will realize it has endless possibilities. Just my 2 cents.

    Hey I'm a drupal fanboy :D

I actually downloaded drupal this morning and installed it. Took me all of 10 minutes total to get it downloaded and installed. It's quite easy.

Now I'm learning about how it works. It takes a little bit to learn how everything works so that you can get the site setup the way you want.

Hold on if you are going to chose Joomla (and the there are many reasons why you should).

Joomla 1.5 will shortly be released. It is currently in release candidate three stage.

PS: For god sake stay clear of Mambo. The project is now a security nightmare with hardly any third party support.
