Don't use Alexa. These free traffic tracking tools do not measure up to real server logs.

You do realize there is more to Yahoo and Google than a search engine, don't you?

Google doesn't hold a candle to Yahoo's news, games, finance, groups, personals, etc...At least, not yet

When you're talking about websites as big as Yahoo and Google, Alexa is actually pretty darn accurate

Based on Alexa. Sure, and based on some guy on the internet calling himself The Mad Revisionist, the moon doesn't exist, either. If it's on the prestigious internet, it must be true.

What gets better gas mileage: a Hummer H2, or a bottle of Absolute Vodka? Not really comparable, the whole apples to oranges thing. Which site gets more traffic, Google or Yahoo? Again, they aren't comparable, apples to oranges. A more useful question to people wanting to do well with search engine traffic might be: Which sends more traffic, Yahoo or Google?

Actually the traffic break down is

    1. Yahoo

    2. Msn

    3. Google

    4. Myspace

Yahoo has been the # 1 destination for years.

Yahoo & Msn are portals built well before Google was a brand.

Yahoo users spend 30 minutes or more on Yahoo

Google is at 6 minutes or so and trying to catch up to MSN :D

    You learn something new everyday.....

I believe Yahoo has always been #1 in traffic. If not always for the most part anyway.

Well, it might in the future. Yahoo also has "Answers" where Google doesn't yet. Google can top them though - with a games feature as well. It's just a matter of time.
