    Hi guys,

as topic shows, what is the reason they limit your account? Mind to share? The reason is to avoid other people doing what you did with your paypal until get banned. :)

    sharing is caring. :).

These paypal kids generally limits account due to unusual activity associated with the account or if they find any false details that you provided while registering your paypal account

I guess suspicious transactions comming from your account or recieving funds from stolen credit cards can get your account limited.

Mine was limited due to 2 unauthorized payments from someone who stole my work and ran away. Luckily I caught the guys but paypal has been playing the judge since, and my account is still limited. I gave up on the money in it.

Yes but main point is you can't send or most important is you can't withdraw your own money
So what's the use of a limited paypal if one is not being able to withdraw his or her own money:(

With a limited account you can't:
    • receive payments
    • send or request money
    • electronically transfer funds from your PayPal account
    • close your account

    You can:
    • place logos into your auction listings or on your website
    • update your account information

Unauthorized payments could be one of them. If Paypal suspects that someone hacked into your account and made a purchase, you may have to face limitation and asked for proof that latest transactions were all legit.

From what I have learned by reading in this forum, paypal usually limits the account if you are accessing it from a country not supported by paypal | accessing the account from a country other than the one mentioned in your paypal and to avoid this, you need to mail em before going abroad !

Also, if there are a lot of invalid transactions < not legit ones >

You can recieve payments with a limited account if the account is not limited because of too many chargebacks (for example if it is limited because of IP-change)

My paypal account was limited two weeks ago but now my case is resolved.
The reason my account was limited due to my account suddenly appeared lots of transaction (receive and send money) in few days (previously I seldom use paypal).
It took a week for paypla team to resolve my account access limited.

    Many reasons:

When they are bored, they limit your account(if it ghasn't been limited for last few months)
    Suspicious activity
    Fraudlent transactions
    Account verification
    Transaction Limit reached etc.

POssibly, started business or online selling.

And, they don't ask the reason why it started much transactions or so. They just need few documents.

Hi, as inworx explained, they don't ask the reason but request you to submit required document to them in the given period. So, you just need to do what they asked for will do.
    I am using premier/business account.

My account was limited twice. The first one was because of "suspicious activity" (which was actually a withdrawal to my VMI card) and the second was because they "suspected" that there was "a third-party access" to my account (which is really ridiculous, since what is the point of having a password for??).

Fortunately everything has been solved now.
