    Haha, a Ron Paul Revolution! How many people are going to vote for Ron Paul for President of the US next year?

    **Ron Paul wants to abolish the CIA
    **Ron Paul wants to abolish the FBI
    **Ron Paul thinks that the attack on America in 2001 was our fault

    Does anyone think that he has a good chance of winning? I seriously doubt that he does, but what does everyone else think?

    Ron Paul also wants to

    • Bring the troops home from around the world
    • Bring sanity to government spending
    • Reduce/remove taxes
    • Create freedom in healthcare
    • Remove UnConstitutional Laws
    • Reduce the size of government
    • Increase trade and diplomacy
    • Secure social security and medicare for the people in the system
    • Give young people the option to opt out of SS and get their own retirement and medical savings plans without government overhead costs
    • Reduce lobbying to Congress
    • Reform the democractic process to allow more than a two party system
    • Restore States rights
    • Secure our borders
    • Create transparent government with less secrecy and corruption.
    • Reduce inflation
    • Stop deficit spending

    There's probably more, but that's what came to my mind in 2 minutes.

    What's with Ron Paul...why are people making a big deal about this guy?

    He has a .00000000001 chance of being elected.

    Jesse jackson has a better chance! ;eek:

    Rob, Paul is polling between 2~5% in the primaries, and Vegas has less than 4-1 odds as recently as last month. That's a lot higher than the percentage you gave.

    It's a revolution. It's a lot bigger and far reaching than this election cycle. Not a whole lot different than the Goldwater movement in '64.

    Heh, I'm not saying he's definitely gonna win the nomination, but to say he has no chance is just foolish. By saying that, you are saying you think someone else has a better chance...who?

    Why vote for a candidate that has a 2% to 5% of winning the presidency? You know what that means? It means that all the other candidates have a 95% to 98% chance of winning over him. Those aren't very good odds, which is why I can't understand why there are people who would be willing to vote for him. He's not going to get elected, so why not vote for a candidate that has a VERY GOOD CHANCE of getting elected?

    Firewolf, I'm not going to go into it too much, but the phone polls are not accurate. There are a number of reasons for this, you can go through my previous posts to find my in-depth explanation for it. I ask again, if he's not going to win the Republican nomination, who is?

    I wasn't quoting the polls -- I was quoting Guerilla, who had mentioned in the post above yours, that Ron Paul has a 2 to 5% of winning.

    But to answer your question-- look at any of the other Republican candidates---- Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, as well as Rudy Giuliani...Rudy actually has a very good shot at getting the nomination, more so than Ron Paul...a lot more!

    Have you been watching the debates? Practically every time Ron Paul opens up his mouth the other candidates jump b/c he says outrageous things and makes a fool of himself, like what I said in my first post, which was that **Ron Paul thinks that the attack on America in 2001 was our fault**

    There's a debate this Sunday and I bet he'll be just as ridiculous as in the other debates.

    omgitsfletch--- I also forgot to mention that Ron Paul is not going to bring troops home from around the world as soon as he gets in office, and if anyone believes that then they are absolutely just as ridiculous as he is. Not only are there limits as to how many brigades can be brought home monthly, but there would be awful repercussions if he were all of a sudden going to bring the troops home in a month or two, which sounds like what your candidate Ron Paul is wanting to do.

    Why make false claims? He was asked in an interview if he thinks that atack on America in 2001 was our fault, and he answered 'No'.

    There is a real Ron Paul, and then there is an imaginary Ron Paul in your head

    demosfen-- in a Republican debate he actually said that, and I'll find it for you and post it here.

    Did you see the previous two times that Ron Paul opened his mouth, and another candidate jumped down his throat? Did you hear what happened after he said something both times? Thunderous applause.

    You may be quoting Guerilla, but Guerilla is quoting phone polls. And as I've said, the phone polls are inaccurate. The web polls are inaccurate the other way, but they are both inaccurate. I can explain it, or at least link you to places that will explain it, if you aren't sure.

    As far as other candidates, McCain is done. His fund-raising has dropped to about a third of the quarter before it, and when you factor in debts, he has about $1.7M cash on hand.

    As far as Romney, Guiliani, and Thompson, there is no clear favorite. This reminds me a lot of the Democratic primary last election, where Kerry won; the field is just not that impressive. Guiliani has so many skeletons in his closet its hilarious, plus the religious right that gets credit for handing Bush his elections has pledged to go third-party before they'd support Guiliani. Romney 's religion turns off the religious right, plus he has a lot of issues he's flip-flopped around on; also keep in mind that if Romney wasting funding his campaign with his own money, he'd currently be $8M in debt. Both Guiliani and Romney come from very liberal states, where they spent like liberals, and where they lead very much like liberals. Thompson is much more conservative than both of them, but a lot of his views are bad in the other direction, he can't debate worth a shit.

    Not that Ron Paul doesn't have an uphill battle, but there is certainly no person who's the favorite, and it shows.

    Very true, but Dr. Ron Paul is even better! :)
    Goldwater was pro-Vietnam war.

    1. Back then everyone was taught to be very scared of the Commies
    2. Now we are invading third world countries who have almost no real military.

    ~~~~~
    • Ron Paul will end the slaughter in Iraq
    • Fight for real freedom
    • Have you noticed the Bill Of Rights is no longer in effect???
    The Bill Of Rights is supposed to protect us from excess or totalitarian government.
    • If we rush to give away all our freedom, what is left for our enemies to fight for?
    ~~~~~~~~

    Many people are finally ready for real change.

    It's still early, and Ron Paul has support from real, honest Americans.
    The others are puppets.
    Can't you tell?

    I'm telling you what his odds of becoming president are!

    Stephen Colbert has a better shot!

    And Colbert would also probably be at least as good a president as the other candidates...besides Ron Paul.

    What would Han Solo do:
