Are there services that will post about your site in forums?

As much as I hear about forum posting the other way, I don't really hear much about this. Maybe I just don't know where to look.

I think it would be cool to hire a company that would then look for relevant forums, questions on Yahoo Answers, etc.... anything where it would be approriate to place your site.... and then post to them with a link to your site. Different than straight link building in that you are actually trying to help people find what they are seeking... not just hoping someone will find the link interesting.

For example, take the site in my signature. It would seem easy enought to find major golf forums and search the web for people asking about taking online golf lessons or looking for free video golf lessons. Then post the link.

Or perhaps even broader... just finding an audience where you think people would genuinely be interested in your product/service/site and establishing a useful presence in the forum... and then making an informative post about your site. Maybe even including several other sites similar to yours.

Anyone ever heard of this kind of marketing being offered? :)

I'm seriously not trying to self promote here, However, just to show that the service DOES exist, simply click my Top Sig - Scorpion Agency - Then click "Services Price List" In the left Navigation Or the Larger "Our Services" Button on the right.

Scroll to marketing services & you'll see it there, it will at least give you an Idea of what the rates are like... You Might want to sit down for this, I've been told it can be quite a Sticker Shock! LOL :D LOL

Thanks for that link, scorpion. You're right it does seems expensive. But I'm suprised there aren't more companies/people offering this kind of service. Do you get many takers?

There is an outsourcing company in the Philippines that will do it for you for around $650 per month. AgentsOfValue.com

I use a software program that keeps all my my main forums in it that I post to which helps me to keep up. Anyone who is interested can PM me. I will put a video up on my site about it in a day or two.

    Gregg :)

Nothing to brag about really, maybe 1 taker per month at the listed rate of $300.00 in a Targeted forum for their Niche. & the Posts don't start to count against their total until the sigs are activated (Seeing that some forums have a post limit in order to activate sigs)

It's simply an additional option offered amongst the others. The majority that use it (In my case) are either current clients or new clients going for a Package (Combining 3 or more services).

I'm sure it's different for everyone. The typical client simply doesn't have time to spend in forums all the time (Thus Outsourcing it).

It's called Shills-R-Us.com, but you have to catch them between games of 3 Card Monty.

Promoting on forums isnt a good way in my opinion, unless you are an active member. I own a forum and I have mods that constantly delete all the spam we get. Some people might get thier link on for maybe 1 minute with 0 page views before it is deleted. So it just ends up being a waste of time for both parties....

The thing is, I am not talking about spamming forums.... not at all. As I said, this is just someone going around seeking out posts and questions where your site is a genuinely relevant, quality resource. If someone says, "Hey, are there any video golf lessons on the internet that are free?" and I type "Check out fairwaymaster.com"... I don't really think that's spam. Or even "Hey, I'm trying to improve my golf game but I've hit a wall." Or anything like that.

Additionally, the other option discussed by a few folks was using sigs... I don't consider that to be spam either. If it is, then you are spamming this forum right now. ;)

Thanks for the link, Alex. I contacted them and they said they could squeeze me in right after a meeting with some guy named Ponzi.
