    Exactly my point.

There's no such thing as possibility with regard to meth users hurting other people, in fact it's a very high probability.

Show me numbers. I'll admit I'm not that aware on the issue, but if a large majority of meth users are violent/dangerous to others and there are numbers to support that, than that'll change my thinking at least for meth.

I don't have numbers at hand, but i'm sure you'll find them online, from my own personal experience anyone on meth is highly unstable when under the influence, in fact this drug makes them in a sense highly psychotic, unpredictable & dangerous.

Then comes the mixed issue of if your a company that is making meth because its a legal product in the view of the government are you responsible for the health effects of people who use it

I've known quite a few meth users and the worse thing that's happened to them has been bad teeth.

The pattern was the same with all of them. Heavy use for a short time, then quitting without looking back.

I'm not sure why they were doing meth, but it's their lives -- not mine.

Mate you have been watching too much news. There is such a thing as psychotic episodes whilst on meth, but this is probably due to the user being unstable to begin with and lack of sleep. If you don't sleep for 3 days straight, your pretty fucked up without taking any drugs, let alone being wired.

Good to have some users with a bit more knowledge chime in. I figured the meth thing was an over-exaggeration just like pot makes you retarded permanently, but nice to see some more confirmation. It's funny, the biggest success this country has had with the War on Drugs is alienating the users even further, and ostracizing them from general society.

It is one area where it has succeeded the most; it takes a lot of people into their mid 20's before they realize a lot of the stuff they learned in D.A.R.E. and on television is bullshit propaganda. This is not to say there aren't risks and health effects with the use of drugs, but the negatives are definitely exaggerated to suit the "omg the children!" agenda.

From what I have personally seen, long term marijuana use is very very bad.

But hey, it's their lives and their brains. They can burn them out if they want to.

People who smoke marijuana for a long long time seem less irritable. Unless they're from New Jersey.

Is the War on Drugs effective? If not, can it be fixed?

No, the War on Drugs is not effective. As Ron Paul said during one of his speeches, despite the fact that only 14% of Blacks use drugs, 36% are in prison because of drugs. I think this best answers the question.

The drug problem can be fixed by legalizing all drugs. No more drug dealers, cartels, or any of those problems. Of course, since the government is the biggest drug dealer in America, they have no interest in ending the war on drugs, since it lines their own pockets. This is why Mitt Romney is against it.........not because he is such a conservative, loving person, but because the corporate interests he represents get paid big money in the business, and legalizing drugs means they lose billions.

Some of you here will try to attack me for saying the U.S. government is the biggest drug dealer in the country, but I'm ready, as usual, to back my statements up with historical facts........

-If you are for legalization, is it solely for marijuana, some drugs, or all? Why?

All drugs should be legalized. Under the libertarian philosophy, you should be able to do anything you want with your body so long as you don't harm others.

This means, if you try crack, and die because of any overdose, its your fault. If you die of meth, its your fault. You should be able to take any drugs you want............but when a drug crazed attacker harms another American, this is when you need to be thrown in prison.

-If you are for prohibition, is it for all drugs AND tobacco/alcohol, all drugs besides those two, or all drugs besides marijuana, tobacco, and alcohol? Why?

All drugs should be legalized. Marijuana is worth billions of dollars, and can be used for clothes, paper, and a bunch of other stuff. With marijuana legalized, trees would no longer need to be cut down for paper, and high quality clothes could be produced. Legalizing Marijuana could save the Amazon rain forest! The legalization of Marijuana would allow for entirely new industries to be created, creating jobs and prosperities for Americans. I'm serious!

Powerful Drug Cartels like those in Columbia would disappear forever, or be forced to make money some other way. Drug Dealers would lose massive profits, and the DEA would no longer be needed, which means the government can cut out this agency and save billions.

The legalization of all drugs would be the best thing that ever happened to this country, but I would never in my life use any of it. However, if another American wants to, fine, just don't bother me.........because if you're on drugs, and you threaten my life, I will use any means necessary to protect myself.

With drugs legalized, you don't have to worry about drug crazed attackers, because here in the U.S., we are allowed to carry guns........

Marijuana kind of sucks. I can't get how anyone would like that feeling.

    Now cocaine...

My nose was broken very badly when I was a kid. My sinuses are all sorts of not right inside. The only time in the last two decades that I've felt like I could really breathe was when I tried cocaine.

It was very nice. It was like I had forgotten how sweet air was.

I really need to never do that again. I can see why people get screwed up on it. I know enough folks in that business, but luckily they see me as a friend and not as a customer.

You've obviously never heard color stream across your living room, or had a sylvan conversation with a squat bear, perched atop a stone, smiling like a fat, enlightened guru. And these were just pot. (Well, the color sound was provided care of black opium hash, hot knived for a true joyride; but you get the picture). Fantasy, my boy. Until I ended up with my footsteps chasing me down the hallway, screaming murderous venom, I loved strong pot, hallucinogens and the escape they provided this adolescent, admittedly screwed-up-to-begin-with mind. Coke was all the better, particularly piggybacked on Thai stick. But it could have killed me; it did kill many I knew.

    All drugs suck.

LSD is better then coke that's for sure! Just depends if you have a hard head for psychedelics though. Admittedly we don't get good coke in Australia though.

I love the feeling of pot. My friend just got some G13, he said the body high you get from it feels like taking painkillers, it's just that strong. Said by far, the best weed he's ever smoked in his life. $70/gram though!
