"I don't think it would be accurate to say the United States government deliberately provided seed stocks to the Iraqis' biological weapons programs,"

"But they did deliver samples that Iraq said had a legitimate public health purpose, which I think was naive to believe, even at the time."

I see, so the government is naive now? Fred will nuke everyone!!!111!!!

You know, without germs, it's not possible to generate Atomic energy...

Any minute now, the neocons will be along, discrediting this. I mean, the government obviously has false information on the government.

Good thing they are in charge of this war!

I'm surprised. I'm surprised that someone would go back to 2002 for an editorial and try to pawn it off five years later as something new to serve their agenda. Or, maybe I shouldn't be surprised?

Those that like to "blame America first" will go to any extreme to make their position against their own country clear.

Let's review, because I'M SURE THAT FACTS DO ACTUALLY MATTER TO SOME:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction

So many countries in that list, providing so many horrible things that some might argue saddam never had.

Yet *some* might want to blame America first and only, with an old op-ed piece, to portray his own country in the worst of lights. I can't imagine who that *someone* might be.

Even more disturbing is, *some* would argue that saddam didn't have wmd and wasn't a threat at all, despite all those millions of tons of nuclear chemical warfare material listed. A complicated matter, to be sure. On one hand, despite what the facts show, they want to blame America first, but on the other hand, they have to admit that saddam was very much a threat to the world with those kinds of stockpiles.

    Decisions, decisions ... ;)

Anyone up for some discussion on real facts? Or is "blame America first" the purpose of the thread?

America did not openly disclose arms sales prior to 1996.

I get a good laugh out of someone trying to justify dual use export of Anthrax to the Iraqi Nuclear program. We all know you can't start the reactor until you infect the engineers with Anthrax...

I'm also getting a kick out of an American hiding behind, "the Germans did it too". Oh, the irony.

Has nothing to do with my post. Good deflection attempt.

Someone is having a very hard time trying to blame their country first, despite having been repeatedly exposed to the truth.

That would indicate said person was not really interested in the truth, and only interested in tearing down their country with disinformation.

I wonder what the Constitution says about that? There's a word in there. Can someone help me remember it?
