More good news for some, bad news for others, and "but, but, but we need a complete story" for others http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/14/AR2007101401245_pf.html Kudos to our troops, for their hard work and dedication, despite their successes being repeatedly taken away by some.
So very true. But *some* might be upset at the good news and want to try and deceive others into believing it's bad news. We saw examples of this in the thread I created last week about how the surge in Iraq is working. Some were terribly upset at the good news. Of course, this additional news seems to reinforce the notion that anyone who wasn't "disappointed" might see, if they were not on a "side." I'm always excited when reports of al qaida being killed are made. And of course, no disrespect intended for those who support al qaida. I want to be "sthensthitive" to their feelings too
What's interesting is, who takes issue with what. We rarely see *some* take any issue with, and sometimes even defend those that behead others or stone women to death while buried up to their necks, but those same people are sure upset and outspoken for those that object to these types of criminals/terrorists. Perhaps one of those types of people will come along shortly and explain such a large gap in the mental masturbation process!
GTech has a son serving, so I won't question his desire to see the enemies that "neccessitate" his son in harm's way defeated or destroyed. But this war is illegal. The occupation is illegal. And the number of Iraqis dead, according to the Lancet is now 650,000. The number of refugees in and out of Iraq (including people displaced) is 4 million. I'm having a hard time wrapping Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic or any other faith or belief system's morality around this. Yes, Muslims attacked the US. The US has been interfering in the middle east since 1953. They occupied the Holy Land of one of the world's largest faiths with an army. They have supported tyrants like Hussein using bioweapons, the Saudis blocking democracy at every pass, and the Iranian Shah who mutilated and tortured his own citizens. So yeah, the set back of Al Queda in Iraq is wonderful. But the cost, and the cause do not add up to the explanations. If you follow independent journalism in the region, you'll know that the violence has merely shifted elsewhere, and even the other Generals believe that Al Queda is resilient.
There is no occupation and there is no illegal war. Lancet is a discredited and biased piece of propaganda and *some* tout it for their "side" and agenda. It has no factual basis whatsoever. Can we conclude the "disappointment" I predicted has arrived?
I understand why over 2,000+ innocent Americans had to die on 9/11 now, i feel tremendously happy by their deaths & every other innocent being killed day in & day out by angry muslims (poor muslims) & have switched alliance to AQ. Where can i donate to AQ? (NOT)
Do you also discredit John Hopkins University? I'm curious to know how you discredit the Journal of British and Foreign Medicine? Do you have proof that these numbers are inaccurate? Do you believe the lives of those 3,000 Americans are worth the lives of 650,000 Iraqis, and 4 million refugees? I'm trying to get a handle on how you measure the value of American life versus the lives of 3rd world civilians.
I've already replied that I will play the game. It's only fair. But I asked first, and I'm not the one being evasive.
So now you are backing out of an answer? I am willing to answer your loaded question. This is disappointing Toopac. If you won't answer a question on the values you debate, then I think you might need to choose the topics you participate in a lot more carefully. So will you step up? Or are you afraid of being accountable for your views?
The only thing that has backfired, is that by dodging the question, you've given me something to quote each time you talk about the necessary deaths of civilians to preserve your own life. I'm happy you've provided all of these posts I will be able to reference later when you post about the war. Thanks, and have a wonderful evening.
