Ya, this story has been posted before. Her site isn't unique.

 

Her site is terrible. Its overloaded with ads and it takes forever to load. But she's working it. Good for her.

I think people are only talking about this because she's 17. A lot of myspace layouts sites are making good money, its nothing new

Does it matter how old she is? A 15 year old can make the same income she's making. Myspacegeeeks.com generates over $90,000 a month and the owner is 177.

 

i love these kind of articles becuse they show how people can be manipulated without a shread of evidence.

Ask yourself, how does somebody who cannot legally sign a contract make $70,000 a month?

How do you know fastclick isnt trying to pull a fast one and trying to promote a site they believe may make THEM more money?

I don't believe the story for a second. I think it's just a viral marketing tale to draw people in to see the "sucessful site".

BTW, numerous people have reported getting infected with viruses while visiting that site.

 

Its entirely possible that shes making 70 000, she has an alexa ranking in the 5000s, so shes obviously getting traffic. Just because someone is a teenager doesn't mean he/she can't be successful.

i have 2 sites in top 1500, they make 5digits a months (alltogether) but its nowhere near 70,000 a month (with that money coming in monthly ill be in the Caribbean now), and my costs are half of what i make

How can people not believe this story? She was on CNN, Good Morning America, etc. Those shows do their research before they put someone on and make those kinds of claims. Yes, she is making 70,000 a month. Or at least that was her best month, and 99% of people would be happy if that was their year.

Maybe her CTR is higher than yours. Maybe her niche is profitable. All I'm saying is that its absolutely possible for her to be making this sort of money, and if someone was going to catch her in a lie, it would have happened by now. This story has been around for ages. Also, are your sites top 1500 in America or top 1500 in a country with a far smaller market?

It's absolutely possible that she's making that kind of money. It just goes to show that age is not a factor in making money online.
