For # 3000 I thought I might share something with everyone about marketing and Squidoo. I am aware of the fact that this could be old news to many of you but if you haven't heard of Squidoo then a here is a quick description. They are a social networking site. You create a profile and then create a page or what they call a lense about any subject.

Once you have a lense created you need to market it. You do this by emailing it to friends, adding it to groups, stumbling it, digging it, blogging about it and other things. If your lense is informative and you market it well you can get it to rank well on squidoo.

Now the reason for me sharing this here..

Lenses that rank well on squidoo can get indexed in search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN Live. Once they are indexed they will start to show up for search terms in these search engines and start to get some decent traffic. This then becomes an additional source of traffic for any site that you may be linking to in your lens.

My squidoo lenses have been a nice source of some extra traffic for my sites. Good luck to you and any of you who chose to use squidoo.

Website of yours? What would that be? Why should I spend my time on it?

Soon or later Google will put a stop to indexing Squidoo pages as more affiliates writing review about some clickbank ebook and other affiliate products.

Just be the first one to write the review with nice keywords. =)

Unfortunately, with everything good, spammers have to manipulate it till Google drops the ax on it. For now, squidoo is a good place to get some extra traffic.

Squidoo had been a great place to get indexed fast. SEs loved it. Those days are over now. Google already dropped the ax on it :)

If Google dropped the ax then why do lenses show up still in the search engines?

It will show up, but doesn't get the love like before. Some people says squidoo is dead. But I think it was a great concept, and worked like a magic in its early. Now with too much spams, it lost its appeal in many ways.

If I build a lens that gets 300 visits a month and 1/4 of those visits click through the links to my site then I will take it. :D It isn't like stumbleupon, you should go check it out.
