    Hello.

i currently own a imagehosting page wich recently have started to get quite many hits and growing each day. the name i choose for this page at the time was "Filefrog". later i bought the domain called "imagefrog" and have now been wanting to move the image hosting part of filefrog to Imagefrog and starting a real file sharing page on filefrog insteed for larger files. now i wonder would it bed good or bad to be moving it like this ? and IF bad, what can i do? the scripts i have for the image hosting page and the filehosting ones are from the same maker but completly diffrently made.

One challenge you may run into is how people are finding and will continue to find the sites. If you are getting hits because of links from other sites and/or ranking within the major search engines, moving may kill that success. This would cause the need to "start over" getting people to find your sites.

It may be easier to move hosting while keeping the domains and current "code" together (if file sizes are the issue). IMHO :)

The only real negative effect you'd have with transferring everything to a new domain name would be a slight loss in traffic and SE rankings. This is easily overcome if you properly market Imagefrog and inform previous users of Filefrog that their files have been moved.

What I'd do is place a redirect on all existing image files and redirect them to Imagefrog. Leave the redirect in place for a couple of months and you should be fine.

    All the best!

The pages is going to be a brother and sister site and will have links to each other, Imagefrog will be maily Imagehosting, gallerys etc with a link to Filefrog

and i am going to talk to the coder of my scripts, trying to make it so that if they use a link to an image in the database they get directed to their image at the new domain, like if they use filefrog.net/out.php/theirimage.jpg they get directed to imagefrog.net/out.php/theirimage.jpg, that maybe could be a quick solution, or am i wrong ?

ye as i said above i was thinking of making it so if they use filefrog.net/out.php/theirimage.jpg they get directed to imagefrog.net/out.php/theirimage.jpg, and ofcourse send out a newsletter to all existing members.
