Hey veggies I made something for you yesterday :D .... smoking sausages !

And today I digged some holes for fruit trees that are going in next month. You have to dig holes one month before you plant trees if someone is interested ;)

I am a vegetarian as well, not because I feel bad for the animals but because of what the meat does in your body. Its not good and as soon as I found out I stopped eating meat cold turkey!

Been about 3 years now, have not missed it a bit and have had more energy ever since!

I wonder what is that in meat that does "in your body". What exactly is wrong with meat ? Someone is selling you crap my friend ;) ..... Meat is good for your body. People who don't eat meat usually don't get everything they need into their body and they look "white"

Can someone who is vegeterian come forward and explain to us why is meat bad for us ?

It's not for the health benefits that I'm a vegetarian - so I probably can't answer your question. Although I do feel more alive since I stopped eating meat (about 12 years ago), and I generally eat way more vegies and fruit than my meat eating friends - which can't be a bad thing.

I'm vegetarian for ethical reasons, I feel weird eating meat.
If anyone feels weird about eating horses or dogs, that's just what I feel about eating any animal. Simple as that.

Sometimes eating meat gets me thinking, too. I start thinking: that's a dead animal, it used to move, make sounds etc., but then smell the fried chicken and it all goes away...:D
The only reason I would quit eating meat it's because it's pumped full of chemicals. In stores, not the pig in the pics.

Obviously you don't work much right ? I mean for a shovel you need meat ;)

Of course you cannot just eat meat. You have to mix food. On the other hand I probably eat more veggies and fruit daily than any vegetarian friends ;)

The problem with vegeterians is that some are really crazy bastards. It is like a religion for them and you, meat eater are just dirty animal killer. Not all of them are like that but the ones I encounterd are majority of that kind. They don't feel they killed tomato I guess :D

At the end of the day. The ones who eat only vegetables are kind of slow and not really good looking from my experience. Their skin is kind of white and they can't keep up whatever we are doing .....

technically human beings evolved from monkeys, so we can do without meat!

do you know about lindman's 10% rule, [sun energy - to plants - to veggi animals - non veggi animals!]
that's why we eat goats and chickens! and not lions and tigers!

Energy conversion from food is like, 100% if you can do photosynthesis;), 10% if you eat grass, 1% if you eat grass eating animals[goats etc]! no energy if you eat lions and tigers!

the energy in each level is dropped by 10%, so if you eat a carnivorous animal, you won't get any energy!

So, from that point of view, if you eat grass instead of eating grass-eating-animal you will get more conversion of energy!

Note: am not a vegetarian, but i enjoy pure veg meals at times!:)

Yea pretty much why monkeys stayed at the level they are today.

Let's not forget that human started developing into what it is today when he started eating meat...

I don't have a clue about energy and those % you are talking about but vegeterians actually cannot keep pace with the rest of us when we work together on the field...They get tired pretty soon and slow down or even sit down and eat grass :)
