Difference in traffic from #10 spot and #1?

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the difference in traffic from ranking #10 and #1 for a certain term. I've been ranked #8-10 for "free games" on Google for the past few months and noticed very little changes in traffic from #10 and #8.

I'm wondering if it's even worth the effort to try and make it to the top 5. Currently I get about 2,000 visitors per day from that term and unless a top 5 spot will wield at least twice as much it's probably not worth it.

    Anyone know what to expect?

try doing a search, kinda hard to come up with terms, but turns up lots of results.

    #1, #2, #3, #8, #9, #10 perform better than others in the first 10.

I agree that the first three are the most eye-catching rankings. However, the description of the site also play an important role..

Nice results, improve the coding within your site and you would probably get to #1 quite easily.

hmm I don't think onpage optimization will do much for my rankings. Going from #10 to #1 for term like "free games" is extremely dificult.

Top 3 is where you want your site to be but number 1 is lots more fun. Yeah even #3 will get you much more traffic than #8.
