Nope, but he's not breaking the rules of the gunmaker either.

No need to defend it to me, but you should at LEAST admit that you're blatanly breaking the rules that are posted in that article by Matt. In fact, you're doing it verbatum like the examples shown in his post.

No sense in us going further on it. We just see it differently. I think a lot of my problem is that I'm dissapointed. I'm an honest webmaster, I've never bought a link, or tried to sell one (and my hosting company site was a pr 7 for awhile). It bummed me out that I expected this forum to have a ton of legit, great ideas for people to use to further their SEO, Google AdSense and SERP. but more than anything I'm seeing a forum based on people posting how to cheat the system and get around rules and procedures.

It just dissapoints me. And no, I'm not saying that's what your post made me feel. it's pretty obvious what i'm talking about. But I guess the forum owners don't care about the content. as long as it's posted in the appropriate forum lol. I got an infraction for asking a google adsense question in the google adsense forum. :D

I know how to get around the paid link issue. Use a great title like:

    "Unpaid Sponsors"
    "Buy This Unpaid Link"
    "Your Unpaid Link Here"

One could even change the font colors so that "Un" would be invisible! Now that I have it all figured out, I'm going to go change my site! :D

Seriously, in the long run it is easier to just play along with Google.

Yeah - I personally wouldn't mind buying a "nofollow" link simply because I am always looking for traffic. But, others are all "OH EM GEE, I NEED SEO."

I recently wrote a post on my blog about why people buy links. Check it out and post a comment leaving your reason. Thanks. Here.

Anyone that idiotic shouldn't be listened to. If you're going to give out advice you don't follow, at least do a better job of hiding it.

Lots of people give out seo badvice in the hopes that some moron will follow it and get banned from Google - thus eliminating the competition.

Let's face facts. There's no difference between putting a link on my site for free or getting paid for it. The transaction is irrelevant.

Here's a link to the greatest search engine in the world!

Now...no one on earth has any way of knowing whether I put it there for free...or got paid to do it. It's there! We all have websites and can link anywhere we want till were blue in the face. Paid or unpaid makes no difference because either situation affects the damn search results the same.

Now assuming I'm right...which I am...the "it affects the search results" claim is erroneous...with the proof being my rant above...case closed.

This leaves the explanation that big g doesn't want anyone making money off the link selling business. Google doesn't make money when you make money...they only make money when you try to make money.

BTW...I've never sold a link in my life. :D

Your assumption (should have been a hint) is wrong.

the business of people with higher PRs selling links on their site is not only probable, it's well known. Those sites would never be adding those links they sell if they didn't. Why in the hell would a website arbitrarily put links to sites that have nothing to do with the website?

If this is the limit of your intelligence level, you run a website and actually believes that garbage you just posted, I feel sorry for you, and anyone that would put any trust in what you just said.

Rush Limbaugh has spoken, folks. As usual, this is the definitive answer, even if nothing was defined or answered. And the "fact" is a lie. Forget the sand: this ostrich must have his head buried so far up his colon he can give himself a prostate exam.

Nebraska, if you believe what you say, that there's "no difference" (your words not mine) then stop selling links, and give them for free. You said "The transaction is irrelevant." (again your exact words) so if it's irrelevant you must be wasting your time with it. So prove to us all that your words are true, or at least that you believe your own words to be true, and put your money where your mouth is. I challenge you to do this.

how about coding your links by spelling it wrong, like "rel=nofolow"? then when google checks, they'll just think you made a mistake

For your information, Matt does not own internet

Are you implying that anyone who bought link or sold one is dishonest webmaster?
Are you a virgin or are you just plain stupid?

I'm implying if you or anyone else intentionally breaks the terms provided by any company you make money from you're dishonest.

But I'm sure you've got a clever way to dance around that, and that's OK. For you.

Sad, but true. All you're really going to find here is a million spammers doing the spam dance with each other. But keep your chin up - in six months when these guys are all banned, you'll still have a good site.
