    Hey there,

It looks like the DP tracking tool requires a google api key.

If it is talking about the one I am thinking about, they stopped giving those out a long time ago...

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong because I am interested in this.

    Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

If you have the funds, try Web Position. You just enter in your keywords, your domains, and any competitor domains you want to track and it will hit up all the search engines and print out these really awesome rank over time reports. You can set it to run as often as you want.

It's a little pricy though, about $400 for the seo professional edition if memory serves me right.

It's the best software for rank tracking, it lets you customize the reports with your own templates/branding, runs whenever you want (you don't need to be at the computer when it runs, it has a scheduler), and you can even set it to FTP the reports to your server.

The seo specialist edition even tracks major directories, regional search engines (i.e. Google Canada, Yahoo Uk, etc), and some smaller search engines.

Sad to say, you are correct. I was hoping the original poster has been around long enough to have obtained one before they stopped giving them out.

I use watchrank and find it pretty useful.

I don't remember paying for it though, I must have got it in an offer or during beta testing.....

well if im right all these tools make an automated search in google or other search engines and check the result for your website url and any keywords that is found with in <strong></strong> tags...(they bold search terms....:)).
sometimes the numbers returned is not true. I got a number three for a number one site..( the first two listings were paid lisitngs..and shoemoney took them for organic too!!...)....I would say set your search engine options to list first 100 listings...if you are not listed in first 100, well you are out of competetion, work aagin on your site......

Wow, someone dug up the old thread. Not sure if the OP is still looking for position ranking tool, but here goes the one that I have bookmarked.

This free position finder tool lets you enter the keywords you wish to see your rank for, enter your url and search for google.com and google.ca and maybe more, I am not sure.
