I got this from Patrick Gavin from AuctionAds.com

    My reply:

Why you ask? AuctionAds died in the ass for me even though NO CHANGES were made on my sites and I was even delivering MORE impressions.

I was making about $300 a month (June/July), then Aug Sep it dropped to under $100, now its making like $10 a month ... no chance I am going to give them my valuable impressions. I am making so much more from other avenues.

Yea, I got it also. The ads look nearly the same except you are paid for clicks rather than sales.

Got a few bugs still. The 120x600 skyscraper is showing the same ad top and bottom with the wrong pic on the bottom. Also, the description has been shortened and doesn't look quite right. No real-time reporting yet.

My AA revenues have plummeted also. However, clicks have actually increased. If I get paid for clicks, it would be better assuming a reasonable amount per click. I will try it for a while.

Got the same email. I just laughed. Anybody who has already tried AuctionAds knows they are screwed up and those are the same people they are inviting to their ShoppingAds beta. They don't get their existing problems fixed, instead roll out a new program. That lot over that at MediaWhiz are a joke.

I'm trying it, however it doesn't look like a good fit for me. I run a very specialized niche site that does great with AuctionAds because there are plenty of people interested in this niche selling on ebay. However there are very little to no large online retailers that sell these items.

So far ShoppingAds is a no go, and AuctionAds is still best for my needs.

Got the invitation too. Will try them out and see. Auctionads has been going downhill and I have dismissed them a while back. Lets see what the new program can bring.

    @ Ruby - HAHAHA - awesome response!

I just put up TTZ Media ads on my sites - they finally gave me a reason to remove Auction Ads. I am now completely AA free and earning money again!

I replied to that invitation email with a nasty remark about AuctionAds.. to my surprise Patrick Gaven responded!

Basically he's a salesman, and blamed me/my site for the poor performance of AuctionAds and assured me that ShoppingAds is a wonderful product.. Mehh..

For those who tried the product...can you see the stats? My code has been up for almost three days, but still no stats have shown up. 0 impressions, 0 clicks, 0 revenue...

I had an ad spot with regular clicks but no sales so I am giving the spot to Shopping Ads for two weeks. If they don't perform I will remove them too.

It might be a good idea to put AuctionAds back into private beta and get it working again...

Oh yeah, he sent me an email when I pulled my sites out of TLA *before* Google started cracking down on buying and selling text links. Fortunately I never made a sale in TLA so my sites are safe, and Auction-Ads was an abortion. I found a much better replacement for Auction-Ads.

However, I'm one to believe that if somebody is persistent and keeps throwing things at the wall, eventually something is going to stick. Patrick Gavin seems to be intent on getting something to stick, so I'm going to test a few ads with this new program because I do have some nice sites that I could replace the Chitika and Bidvertiser ads on.

    Hello DP friends...

Have you seen the email from auctionads owner?

"Pedro, as a previous user of AuctionAds I wanted to send you a private invite to our new ShoppingAds product! ShoppingAds is a cost per click ad product powered by the major shopping comparison sites.

Now you are probably wanting to email me right back and ask, "Why should I try ShoppingAds when I had such hit and miss success with AuctionAds?" The answer is because ShoppingAds is a cost per click product with predictable earnings. So you send the traffic and get paid for every click! AuctionAds is a CPA (cost per action) product so earnings were very unpredictable for many publishers. Also, ShoppingAds is built on a very stable platform and the ads are serving lightning fast!

Our current users are seeing CPC's in the $.25 range on average and we think we can deliver a great return for your site. We are ready for you to start running the ads and we offer full international traffic support."

Can you please share your results on ShoppingAds?

Visit my blog and see why I will use it :)

    Success

    Pedro

Finally an admission from them that AA is rooted.

The thread title is misleading too.

I asked patrick if this violates google adsense TOS, he said no, it doesn't.
take it for what it's worth. truth, or a salesman trying to sell a product.

Why would it violate the Adsense Tos?
Google has allowed contextual adverts to run alongside their ads since Jan 07.
