Man This Thread Is Pointless! Why Dont We Open A Thread Called "man Google Copied Altavista" Then We Can All Bi**h About How There Should Only Be 1 Search Engine And All The Others Copied. What A Sad Thread. Whoever Agrees Give Me A Yes I Do Agree Stickyz And Lets Get This Pointless Thread Closed
Enjoy your red rep, You are ruining someone elses business for no reason by copying a unique idea. You should be ashamed of yourself. I am only being honest in my posts, and i am willing to help hecky and not you. Rob
Lol, the idea of this thread is not to take legal action against you, but to make you realise that by copying my siite you make yourself less than popular on a webmaster forum, because we all have people who copy .. PS. 13 People viewing the thread? That's my biggest thread .
you cant take legal action even if you tried coz iv done nothing wrong, and if people going to decide a give red rep by not knowing all info fine by me good luck to all i dont wish bad on anyone
Hecky, I know you're frustrated but imitation is the highest form of flattery. Competition isn't a bad thing for a new product/idea. The more prevalent stickies become the more people will be looking for them, regardless if they come from his or your site. Even without funds you can make yours the "better" product by offering better support or simple variations, making a better website. You can make it more popular by taking the time to do all of the free promotion you can. There really is room in the market for 2, and soon there will be more. Develop your idea to the fullest and don't worry about what anyone else is doing. Then move on to your next big idea. You're obviously creative and the next good idea is just around the corner. Good luck on this and in the future to both of you.
I would definitely not think about selling your site. Sure, now you have a competitor, but your sticky idea was, and still is a great idea. I wouldn't let a jerk, who took your idea, convince you to drop out of such a fresh market. I see this sticky idea of yours evolving into a huge market and you will have a lot more competitors besides him. You should stick with your website, continue to grow, and hold on to your number one position. Take a look at my site PS3Tag.com. When we entered the PS3 Gamercard market, there were only two other notable websites. We now have a great spot in the market, so when others enter the market, which they will, we will be the largest site and the most popular site catering to PS3 Gamercards. What you need to do now, is not worry too much about what others have done, instead, try to work harder and improve your service. - Narutoboy
I wouldn't sell it mate At the end of the day there are only 2 sites that I know of that do the same thing. Think how many clones of every site appear on the web daily. All you have to do is work hard at market and you will succeed. Yeah it sucks that someone can earn an equal/better living from your idea but this has the potential to go huge. Stick at it and failing that I will have it off you
Thanks man as i said yes clones appear everyday and this thread is pointless coz its not like i took his material just he had an idea i made it better as his was simple i added better interface colours and stickyz
guys also its like the kiddies in the school playground have taken over DP, mods there should be an age limit of legal issues threads coz they dont have a clue
I dont normally post on threads like this, but thought I would make an exception on this one. History is littered with great ideas that have been overshadowed by an copy that either has better marketing or better functionality. Was the choice of the "copies" domain a little underhand perhaps yes, did the "copy" steal anything apart from the idea from the original site, I think both parties have agreed they havent. Has the "copy" site done anything illegal? No, immoral perhaps but thats business. What has amazed me in this thread is the fact that both parties have almost gone out of their way to be completely unprofessional, pretty much taking it to a school yard squabble. You both have good sites, take the arguements private, go market them and see which one wins in the long run. Jen
