Though SEO can bring thousands of traffic to your site, yet the traffic is nothing just like crowd on roads who have nothing to do with the roadside outlets. SEO is dead and gone, though I don't love today as an SEO Specialist. But truth is truth after all. Social Media Optimization is the best way to promote your site. The only thng that you can do is need to create one account in all social community sites and invite as many as like minded friends to your profile. once you get a good bunch of friends endorse your site, service or whatever you like to do. Now it depends on your marketing skills ow you will promote things...

What rubbish ? Do you have any idea what you are saying ? SE traffic is highly targeted and it is one of the best source of traffic. And Orkut brings quality traffic are u out of your mind ? First of all orkut bring very very very small amount of visitors and that too they just come once to check out your site and secondly they are not at all targeted the traffic is shit.

Yes infact search engine traffic is the most targeted traffic one could ever get. Google is not making billions just like that.
Well, I did try that method - and though i do get a few hits from orkut profile, sadly though, it doesn't drive the traffic I am interested in. Overall, it is a very small proportion of visitors who come more out of curiosity then any definite purpose. Cheers GS

Look if Orkut is really useless then how this Proxy Surf and Customized Templates sites are getting huge amount of traffic though such communities. I just wrote what I felt should be shared....
Sure... Proxy, template, and code sites will definitely get traffic from this. But, if you're a business that sells business furniture (for example), do you think Orkut is going to drive targeted traffic? And to say that seo is dead is nonsense (hence, the type of responses you are getting from your post). It's fine to give an opinion, just make sure that you are informed. There are a lot of people that use this forum to help make decisions on how they market their product online.

It can drive traffic provided you do it right. But the traffic won't really convert, for the majority of Orkut users are from India and Brazil. E- commerce isn't as developed in these countries as say the United States of America and the United Kingdom
I beg to differ about that point. Search Engine Traffic only brings you traffic that has been pre-qualified by searching a few keywords and reading a description of your site. I have a service (see my sig) that delivers much higher quality targeted traffic using video to pre-educate the viewer before they arrive at your site. I would say that is somewhat much more targeted than search engine traffic.
Just one question to you, what if your site is banned by the social sites for spamming ? what will be your next plan of auction ?
actually i will bring some fantasy here.. the google should have the option to record peoples email address or have an option to combine them in a group or social media option when they search for example some one searches online gaming.. google should on the top display.. join the official google group online gaming the group has 5 million members till date and chat make friends and share your thoughts with them.. now google should have an option to advertise to this groups and also people with mass friends could post a bulletin share their thought etc.. the online world would be easy as cheese cake then.. actually google has groups.. but not for discussion or social gathering.. and also its kind of hidden.. ordinary ppl who come online dont even know google groups.. and also kind of disgusted of the unofficial google groups.. as no interactivity and damm moderators.. i think the guy points out.. that the world should be smaller.. not so bigger like google which throw us to 1 billion websites who are sleeping and nobody there to talk share or ask anything..(other then forums)
