It's not just about a threat (porn or scamming) as you claim, it's about a direct threat that was carried out, DP was DDOS attacked by the very people who made the threats. That's the point & your either not informed enough to know about what happened or as i said earlier you don't care & want to gloss over the fact (which is exactly my point earlier about you being slapped down & not even getting up).

You can't link to one because you can't, face facts.

Not agreeing with terrorists or wanting terrorists killed or discussing polices the US/UK have in place for defeating such scum is not something i'd lose sleep over.

Not to demand that i control or want to control the DP staff but i feel this thread should be closed, the purpose of the thread is not a discussion.

 

Listen my friend, I have no intention of drawing this out with you. Wanting terrorists killed? NON-HUMANIST. I'm not saying that you're right or wrong - I'm simply saying that those types of views are non-humanist and will ALWAYS be inflammatory. This is a fact and it is unarguable.

As far as the facts go: DP was down for a matter of hours because some pissed-off guy from another country took the foolishness in the P&R forum seriously and launched an "attack" (I use the word loosely). There are no lasting effects. Had they kidnapped Shawn, I'd be concerned. Had they bombed your home, I'd be concerned. The took an internet forum offline for a few hours - the world will move on.

Finally, for the record, calling your posts non-humanist doesn't qualify as an insult for several reasons: one, I was referring to your posts, not you. I don't know you, I have no idea what kind of person you are and I would presume that you are likely a good guy as far as your general life and actions are concerned. Second, the term non-humanist is a label that many wear proudly. Saying that terrorists should be killed and then saying you were insulted by the term is an oxymoron of the worst sort. I'm not telling you to change your views, but there is certainly no gain is proliferating views and then running when you are aptly labeled.

This will be my last response to you so don't waste your time with another reply. I meant no personal insult or harm in my posts and I have no wish to trade barbs here with you. You are welcome to make any assumptions that you like on my behalf; my day will continue as planned with no one the worse for it but you.

Despite the irresponsible thread titles, there is currently some very high quality debates in the P&R section.

How is this possible?

• Interest in the 2008 elections has raised the number of people who visit P&R
• Over time many worthwhile debates are occurring.

Perhaps the warning will help reduce the amount of hate shown by some people.

Most of the people I've debated in P&R with have been very civil, even the individuals who watch too much Fox News.

 

Because they posted in the P&R forums that their demands will be met or that they would do week long DDOS attack on DP, their demands were certain threads in the P&R should be closed or removed.

 

I don't think shawn should be scared, because he has a $70k server, they will need 4-5 computers at least to do a DoS.

That's definitely impressive hardware

They were very successful with their DDOS attacks that they did do though, they brought DP pretty much to a stand still for most of the day yesterday.

 

Yeap ddos attacks were successful for sure as DP was down for quite long period
