Well it depends on the business. Maybe a company a manufacuring company will not upgrade because they use computers for only the minimal....but an office or software company might because that is what they need and they need the best.
But what's "the best"? The best for them is what works and is compatible with what they already have. They don't care about the fancy graphics which make their pcs cost more, they care how much work that gets done. If it doesn't massively increase productivity then it's not worth the hassle.
Vista has alot of bugs to work out before I’ll make the switch from XP... Vista isn’t to friendly with the 3D apps I use.
I am currently using VIsta on my new system and XP on my old. I find Vista good for all work in designing and I love my XP for gaming
I'm against Vista for the same reason I was against XP when it came out. Too many of my old programs and games don't work on it. And it seems so bloated. It's an operating system, not the latest game. It should work without a hitch on the slow PC's.
I know i hate that it is not always compatible... I always have to check if software I am about to install is compatible
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with Vista apart from its major compatibility issues at this stage. However, im sure things will work out in the end. I still use XP (and OSx)
Not being able to play Halo 2 on Vista is a big one for me. And plus I hate the requirements, too damn high. Just bought a comp with it and its slower then my P3
My understanding is a lot of software is still incompatible with vista. Specially if you use high end software for development or what ever. Also I get impression that vista uses a lot more of computer resources, which is completely unnecessary. If I wanted to "fruit cake" looking animation of my menus or some butterfly flashy icons I would jet get a mac.
I bought a new laptop which has vista package. very slow compare to XP. woul like to swith to vista but will cost another $100.
vistas going to be another windows operating disaster. I'm going to stick with Ubuntu when I get my new computer.
It seems you have invested a lot of bucks for your PC. Thats why it runs fast(or seems to run fast) . It is running pretty slow in my system and the UAC is very annoying. i threw my copy somewhere in junk and rolled back to XP. What a waste of money & time. If you have planned to buy Vista dont do it untill SP1 is out.
