Yes there is a lot of bugs in there that is why it is called Release Candidate...
They are working like crazy to debug it and release stable version some time in November.

With all the new features and plugins this version is more like a CMS than a regular directory.

I am planning to run some of my sites (not directories) on this script.

Really, alot of people have sworn that Esyndicat outperforms many of the existing scripts on the market, even popular ones.

I dont' know, I'm just going by what I've heard

Did u try to get help from their forums?

I'm a member at their forums and if u want, I will let them know that you had trouble installing it.

    Hi Adnan,

Well the 1st thing is I am waiting for my access to the pro forums.

    2. The template(default) is really behaving strange. the sidebar links just disappear.

    3. Pagerank display does not work.

    4. Category Count is not working ! when u add a link from the admin panel.

and many more to be discovered.. I have made a post & waiting for the reply.

    I saw your post there.

I guess somebody will take care of it for u.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Esyndicat representative. :)

I was just heading over there for some chit chat, (they love to see my DJ avatar there) and said I'll mention it over there for you just in case u didn't know about their support forums.

    Wish u best of luck.

Why dont you try using PHLD 3.02 version its really cool with a lots of features and without any bugs. I think most of the members here will advice you to use PHPLD.

    Hi Adnan,

Well thanks for the help, I don't know why it is behaving so strange.

I love phpld, I have been using them for a long time, Just had this licence which was not used for a long time.

So trying it out on this domain. But chances of Esyndicat don't see so bright now. I think i will revert back to phpld.

No chance, I don't mean to be disrespectful to you because as yours saying your just passing on what you've been told. Out of the many out there I have to be blatantly honest esyndicat is one of the most awkward and bug ridden scripts out there at present. It is way behind both phplynx and phpld and they are just two names to throw in the pot. But hey I am bias to phpLynx, but note I even put phpld before esyndicat as at least they fix bugs before releasing new versions. esyndicat don't.

Hi Phoenix, I know that the phpld 3.2 has some bugs as pointed by Sasa, But at this point of time I cannot an opinion as which script is better. I will present my view in some days.

But I am really angry with the support & that has also forced me to make this blog post.

Will post the status here as to how my queries are resolved by the support.

I won't agree with you on this one. esyndicat is an excellent script. I didn't try 2.2 yet but from their forums I don't see much complaining about bugs. Anyways it is not always a good idea to upgrade as soon as new candidates are released, you will have to wait the final version.

Your entitled to disagree, I don't expect everyone to sing from the same songsheet. I speak fact and from experience, I can point you to a whole lot threads that support me if you want, but maybe even doing that won't convince you otherwise?

Do you think I need to see the threads when I am using the script for my 2 directories?
anyways, I was just giving my opinion, and of course I am not trying to change your mind.

Not really mhamdi, but I never make a statement unless I can back it up. It's not up to you to change my mind, its up to esyndicat to get thier act together and fix what needs fixing. Good luck to you regardless of script. :)

good luck to you, hope you enjoy. You can always have a test run of the free version of phpLynx to compare as well you know, it costs nothing support is great and best of all you don't need to wait for mods like deep links etc, they already are in the full. Good luck whatever you use. :)
