Sorry but what you say makes no sense. Alexa ranking does not have any kind of affect on the SERPs, if not, the serps might have affect on the alexa ranking (if the site is ranking well for certain keywords in the serps and receives a load of traffic). But lets get back to the OPs question. You say you have a video site, but what I want to know is, are those video sites (on a page) together with content or just a page with the video? It would make sense that a page with content ranks higher than a page with only video (spiders don't understand the "One image talks 1000 words" if you get what I mean). In case you page that used to rank good before and had/has content than you might take a look at the site that is above you. Also check the keyword density and other factors. Without knowing the URL of the site I could actually give an idea of whats going on.
i seriously dont understand y is gogle not wrking on the costumer's side.. its become more of a business now.
No their is quite a lot of content on each page with the videos which is really weird. Im just gonna give it a couple more days before i make any decisions.
alexa means nothing.... I have a site that gets 30,000-50,000 uniques a day on average, yet it isnt in the top 2 million for alexa either... Wanna know why? It's on a subject, which is not visited by almost anyone who would have an alexa toolbar. Alexa means nothing.
I'm going through this phase with my site as well.. We were ranked very highly in the SE, now we're falling down on result positions... by stupid sites that offer nothing like we do... it's very annoying. but keep at it, we will win this fight.
I have sites I barely care about ranking great, and other niche sites I enjoy & work on a lot doing horrible. The internet is still a teenager. When it matures it will require full effort on 1 site to rank, lol.
Alexa most certainly doesn't 'mean nothing' the only people that say that are the ones that rank bad. lol It's used in MANY places to estimate trends. Including any place that valuates domains for purchase. Of course it's not accurate in numbers but it gives a very good idea on basic trends Your rare exception is what really means nothing.. if it's true
Were all these sites cross-linked? That could also be a problem. Google could feel that so many boxing sites should all be really just one site... and not 10 sites interlinked... You never know for sure what big G is thinking...
That is really bad news man, but keep working on it and build more backlinks from theme related websites and you will recover and will rank again, but try not to rely on search engine traffic only, just an advise.
For one Alexa bar is very inaccurate because tons of people do not use the alexa bar but totally not related to this guys situation....Another their has been a critical smack down on video sites lately due to copyright infringement. So that is what has possibly happened to you.
It's just a temporary drop, man ... It happens all the time to every kind of site. Wait another couple months before you retire, it will come back.
Yes everyone it was a false alarm. In fact my sites rankings have improved rather dramatically. Can not be happier awesome stuff. I wish you all the same kind of luck.
