* I like how the left and right side of the site is very organized. I'm not a huge fan on the header however... I think it looks a bit plain (the text is good for SEO though) What I would do is get a logo design.. OR if your friend would like to keep the text, maybe instead of a gradient background he/she could use a graphic/photograph relating to the site's topic?
The header offers a lot of unused space. Moreover he could highlight it a bit more, for example using another font, colour or adding a graphic.
