Hi guys, I would like to ask how I could add adsense to pages (not posts) within wordpress? I do know how to add adsense to the sidebars but I would like to add ads to within the pages content. Many Thx
I recommend the plug-in called "Adsense Manager" by Martin Fitzpatrick. It saves a lot of monkeying around with template files and you get very nice results with the inline ads. Find it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/adsense-manager/
I started using the Adsense Manager a few days ago and it is a really easy plug in to use. It saves a lot of time messing around with the template and takes less than 5 minutes to set up. I would highly recommend this plug in to anyone with a wordpress site!!
It takes you less than 5 minutes to open a WP template file, and insert the adsense code in it exactly where you want the ads to show up without loading your wordpress with unnecessary plugins. My point...
It doesn't take 5 minutes if you don't know how to edit your template and don't want to mess the template up
Ok, that can be the case but then it would be smart to pay someone a quick $5 to have the code added.
The plugin was made so that people who can't edit coding and who don't want to edit the template can install a plugin that will add all your adsense ads for you. Why pay when you can get a free plugin to do all the work for ya
Or. If you want to save $5, spent 5 minutes on learning how to insert the adsense code into HTML. You can't go wrong.
Also, unless I'm mistaken, if you change your WP skin, you'll need to re-edit your templates in order to keep your AdSense blocks. This wouldn't be the case with the plug-in
If you dont plan on changing the wordpress theme use the plugin. Its easier! Add the code were you want it and if you want to change it at any stage all you have to do is go to the plugin edit and change it there and it will change it site wide. Editing the page.php is ok if you dont plan on testing the adsense colors, size etc.
On the obverse, if you already have a 5000 page blog, adding the plug-in will not help you that much in regard to in-line ads because you will have to go back and add the ads to those 5000 pages. So it is swings and roundabouts, belts and braces etc. All depends on your situation.
BTW you can wrap the text around the adsense by using this : <div style=â€display:block;float:right;margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px;â€>||adsense here|| </div> example at matnewton.com
Well it would get much more easier if you get into your wordpress admin panel, go on theme edit, chose the page.php file to edit, find the code where it parses the content (should look something like <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?> ) before that div add the adsense code and maybe wrap with with a span, with CSS float the span that holds the adsense code and there, you have added adsense to 5000 pages with one single move.
Just change the code in page.php if you find any difficulty means just use the template of adsense readymade wordpress templates
