    I'm curious about something...

I have a clickabnk product that I seel online.

I also have a lot of affiliates that have posted hoplinks to my product's web site.

Do the hoplinks help my site's seo or not?

    Just wondering.... Thanks.

Ok what is a hop link? If you refer to websites linking to the clickbank URL where your product is listed than no, those links will not help your site in seo terms.

No apprently they dont. Yea i agree with GeorgR. clickbank hoplinks are very much prone to affiliate theft.

In my niche, they're really not prone to theft. My product is a book about getting teaching jobs. 99% of my customers have never sold anything as an affiliate online... 99% ofthem have never purchased an ebook before... 99% of them just want to click and download the book, rather than go through a big hassle of applying for a CB account to get a few bucks off.

HOWEVER, for people who are selling clickbank products that have ANYTHING related to computers, online marketing, etc... they DEFINITELY should cloak the links... and they WOULD be prone to affiliate theft.

To trapped-- you asked what is a hoplink. When someone types in a link like http://PUBLISHERID.AFFILIATEID.hop.clickbank.net ... they are automatically forwarded to my homepage. So, in a weird sort of way, I have a hundred or so affiliates that link to my product's homepage. I was asking people if those links would count as good backlinks to improve my SEO.

No, I don't think so. Those are 301/302 redirects and will not count.

BTW: I am one of your affiliate ;)

    I didn't think they counted, but I wasn't sure.

Thanks for the reply... and for the affiliation. :)

A 301 is a SEO friendly redirect. Do a little research on that one and it will be clear.

However, I'm going to guess that the clickbank links give no SEO benefit. They shouldn't. That's not a vote for your site. That is an advertisement.
