Tatiana, having bought several domains from MyDomain, it is my experience that the domain will be up within a day, if not several hours.

the domain should get activated as soon as it is paid for, for credit card payments the payment verification takes about 20 - 25 minutes from my experience. I think they also have PayPal & a system so you can deposit funds before you shop so it would be immediate I guess if you do it that way.

yes you will need to pay normal prices for another year or transfer but you can still use coupons but they won't be $1 but more like $6 - $7 with coupon. The first year is often used as a testing year to see if you can develop some traffic with the domain and make the domain pay for it's self which is not hard if you only have a few domains and not that difficult even if you have hundreds or more....

If you want to register a new domain, yes. If you want to register your expired domain as a new domain - have fun! After the .info is deleted, it will go on a 30 days redemption period, then another 30 days deletion schedule period.

And then they are some big domain portfolio players on the market, who grab almost every expired .info domain if there is a small traffic on these.

Actually that is cheap, some registers will make you pay a lot more for renewals, with MyDomain & Godaddy you can often get a coupon for renewal. Have you not purchased domains before?

The Mydomain coupon "bargaincat.com" for .info's is still working for $1.03 (full price) means you will get about 15 extra domains per 100 than any other current offer. It also gets cheaper for each lot of 50 I think.

This is an old thread, there was an updated thread somewhere but here is the details again..

You can still register $1 domains, well $1.03 to be exact but from Domain.com and the same coupon works "bargaincat.com" - I think if you register 100+ the price comes down to around $0.90 each as I was told - this promotion will end on the 18th of October with the new price hikes from ICANN so this will be one of the last times domains will only cost a $1 or less.
