Can anyone tell me if MTV actually eve plays any videos anymore?? I've be by that channel at all times of the day this week and I have yet to see a single music video. WHAT THE?

I hate that channel so bad now...not that it was ever stellar but still! Compared to now CMT is much preferred!!

Yes, I'm watching CMT...but only b/c "The making of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" is on :D:D now that's entertainment!

Yup MTV these days are full of reality stuff and other things not related to music videos at all. Be nice to have them go back to what they actually were created to do, show music videos.

I'm a little older than that ... I can remember our family buying one of the earliest TV sets to watch black-and-white television! :) Everything was live then. I recall watching the late Jackie Gleason break his leg on live TV when he slipped while running through some fake snow (perhaps soap flakes).

Jackass was the only show on MTV that wasn't music videos, but still made the station good.

If you are talking about MTV India.. I must say, you are wrong. They do play videos. Its a FTA channel and they must show ads to survive.

I have my tv programmed to skip MTV.

I actually looked through my DVR the other day, MTV plays less than 6 hours of music videos during the week, on any given day, same for VH-1.

    Geez.

MTV used to be cool, 120 minutes was awesome, stuff like that. Even when they started doing the early Real World stuff and like Beavis and Butthead, Aeon Flux and Liquid Television, it was OK...but at some point they lost any balance of music shows / other shows and it totally lost it for me.

MTV2 was OK for awhile, but then it became like all rap. I don't mind rap or anything, just rap all the time, which it played, so I stopped watching.

Maybe there is an MTV3 coming soon.

You had both colors, black and white?? :D

Color TV was for people who liked to waste money. I grew up watching hockey on a UHF station that was so snowy I wasn't quite sure what a puck looked like until I got one at Christmas.

MTV was new when I was in college and we used complain the VJ's talked too much which limited the music to about 54 minutes per hour. You might as well just load up the turntable with a stack of 12" LPs and turn off Martha and J.J..
