    Like the staff...

"Lets shut this board down for good, because we don't wanna have a debate here! Ban everyone!"

No not the staff. Look at why they want this section gone.

Some members on here like to spread hate towards a certain religion which in turn has attracted some bad apples who attacked the forum. Not only did this effect the PR & Section but it has also effected every DP member who uses the forum on a daily basis (for webmaster stuff). Why should the normal webmaster suffer because some moron wants to make a hate post towards a religion or race of people?

Its just a shame that some people here are helping to destroy such a great forum.

Bowing down to cyber terrorist is never a good thing, it's exactly what they wanted & got, they simply got offended about a thread questioning the Armenian genocide, that's pretty pathetic:p

If DP gave in to Jews that were DDOS'ing DP because someone said the holocaust didn't happen then certain people would be fitting & even though i wouldn't agree with the attack i would still say rolling over is not an option.

Its not bowing down to cyber terrorists its stopping specific members from promoting hatred on the forum. This has been on-going well before there was any mention of a Armenian genocide in the recent news. It was just a matter of time for something like this to happen, unfortunately.

As for it being pathetic, I totally agree.

You see that scenario should never happen because DP is a webmaster forum which is my argument about the whole problem. A perfect reason to remove P&R and the hate mongers.

It's exactly bowing down, they was DDOS'ing DP because they didn't like that fact the Armenian genocide was mentioned, that's what brought them to DP (i don't know whether you was here yesterday, but i was) they made a threat to DDOS all week until the thread was closed, it got closed then the DDOS attacks stopped after these attacks went on all day.

As you can see their demands were met, that is not the opposite of not bowing down.

I don't blame Shawn for doing what he did, but i don't agree period.

I think you have the word hate mixed up with the word information.

Actually no... the 2nd attack started after whatever thread they were talking about was removed. And not just that thread was removed... Quite a few "hate" threads were removed and closed that were spawning general hatred.

Whoever was behind it never asked hatred threads to be deleted/stopped... that was something I'm doing because I want to. Not because some twits decide to DDoS my site and I'm worried about them doing it again... At this point I assume they will do it again because they have nothing better to do and now it's a fun game for them.

So if you think the new rule that people can't use this forum to spread hatred towards others is stupid, I'm sorry (well not really, but okay)...

You realize they won't stop until islam is not allowed to be talked about? They have now tasted blood and they're not going to stop until probably the entire section is shut down.

    Sucks.

Dunno if you saw my other post, but I'm sorry about the trouble I have caused along with a few others. I'm sure they're sorry too.

it is no big deal, this happens on other forums all the time. you guys just have to realise that 'free speech' does not equate with 'free abuse'.
too often personal insults are hurled without there being any reference to the thread or any topic whatsoever.
it is fine to say that you find the acts of islamic jihadists repugnant but not to paint all muslims with the same brush, and the same goes for other religions and races.
bullying others will not make them accept your opinons.

I believe spreading hate on DP needs to stop too, I fully agree with that, but some people consider even mentioning Mohammad etc to be hateful. Theres hate & then just hate of freedom of speech, & although this is a privately owned forum some believe it should be under a taliban like rule (imposed from the outside lol)

OK for argument sake lets say it is bowing down but don't you think Shawn has the perfect reason? After all, a part of his business is at risk because of the way "certain" members have been posting (well done lads). I actually wonder how much revenue was lost during the attack and other attacks that might follow. Not just Shawn's revenue but also the majority of members who use DP on a daily basis to also make money.

You think wrong. I've read enough of your posts to see how you spread hate on here. Congrats on a job well done.

Yea? Why? Because I post links to news about Mus**m* that put's them in a bad light? I should be sorry for this? Please.

The only thing I'm sorry for is making DP go down and putting shawn and the admins through all the BS. As far as these little men go, I'm far from sorry to them.

I'm not saying he's wrong, i would say he made a choice & it's his forum.

Damn Shawn losing money is not fair, webmasters not being able to use DP is not fair (something needed to be done) but imo i don't believe giving terrorists what they want is best, it just makes them do it again to someone else.

That's 99% of the problems with chat rooms, boards etc.. The anonymity factor. We all hide behind screens and can say pretty much anything about anybody, we can scam anyone we like and in the end no one really knows who the culprits are.

I remember writing an essay on a question for University. The question was "What one thing would help greatly to remove crime on the internet?" I based the whole argument on anonymity. Remove it and 99% of crime would be removed along with it. The same principle applies to personal cyber-attacks.

What I could not answer was how to make it happen on an international basis.

    Col :)

Who said you should be sorry for that? You'd be the last person I would expect to be sorry for your quality of posting and you do more than post news links as proven by posts such as this. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to dig out a few hundred like that, if I could be arsed.

    Now that's funny!

Well these people do not run the forums so it doesn't really matter.

We're simply asking for everyone to basically act civilized. That should be no big deal really.

Heh. I wasn't online for a couple of days, and all hell broke loose.

I got no problem with the new rules. Should be interesting.

Hmmm...That's going to be a major obstacle for some unfortunately. It's almost like some have it bred into them to attack.
