Best way to monetize parked domains?

    Hi,
Have a question for the Gurus out here.

The company I work for has several hundred registered domains that are sitting idle on their name servers- no content, no websites. Just registered domains pointing to a single "parked page".

The collectiive traffic is 1-2 thousand visitors/day. Probably from random visitors.

Can anyone suggest the best way monetize these domains without building hundreds of unique sites?

I was thinking to set these domains up and have them point to a page that generates domain keyword related content, using a PHP script or something, but I'm not sure if this is possible or within most PPC program's conditions.

Any ideas that won't get them booted from Adsense or most other PPC's ?
What are other companies with a bunch of parked domains doing?

    Thanks in advance to all!

Lots of domain registrars have "parking" things where you can earn revenue share on the ads that they place on them (I think Godaddy charges for it), DynaDot has it for free -- You could check with your registrar, if not. Google has a "Adsense for parking" thing if you have a large enough portfolio.

I have been using them for a month now and the system is super simple to use.

Doesn't cost a cent to utilize them, THEY PAY YOU!

I'm not a fan of parking domains @ Sedo & neither are many other domainers out there. They are great for if you want to sell your domains, but not for parking. There are better companies out there thay pay higher.

Sedo were the 1st company I parked my domains at for a couple of months & I was only getting 1-2 cents per click! I was then referred to a relatively new company called ParkingPanel from a fellow DP person, have been with them a few weeks & am getting more clicks & between 10-40 cents per click.

They've been the best one I've found myself. If you're interested in finding out more info, see my sig for ParkingPanel. They don't except everybody & say that it's easier to get in with a referral.

Use sedo.com to display ads on your parked domains. With 2k visitors each day you should make a good amount of money.

    I'd try park them with:

    1. DomainSponsor.com
    2. Trafficz.com
    3. Parked.com

When I have domain that I don't use, I just add this new domain on my vps. Every time that new domain is added, defoult page is opened to. I just design that page to look nice and add ppc ads to look like a part of design. I have only 4 domains right now and around 40-60 visitors. Usually I make enought to pay all my domains and hosting bills.

Hi, I've only used Sedo, but I'm pretty happy with the results. I've had anywhere from $0.03 to $1.50 per click, so I guess it depends on how well the adverts match your visitors demographics.

I.m sure others do the same, but Sedo let you set up the style, images and advert keywords on a domain by domain basis, so you can tune till your hearts content.

You can build backlinks if you use name server forwarding rather than the redirecting option.

I simply redirect http://www.youlist.co.uk/ with a page I optimised for consumer electronics / GPS

    Good Luck.

Yes, for Sedo, you can either change the DNS to sedo's nameserver or simply set up a redirection (via .htaccess for instance) to point to -http://www.sedoparking.de/your_domain.com

Monty thanks !! do you know if you can actually build backlinks to your domain if you indeed use redirection ? I find it hard to believe that it would be so ... did you actually find it in the ToS ?
